I think the UNC hype started with what appeared to be 2 great wins to start the season but those 2 teams ended up combining for 7-9 in conference play.

Then they took Clemson within 1 point (good job but you didn’t win, plus somebody does this every year before Clemson goes into CFP mode)

Sprinkle 2 wins against Duke and GT (combined conference records of 5-11) around a bunch of losses to WF, App state, VT, Virginia & Pitt

Then they finished with 3 straight wins, but nobody noticed they were against Temple, NCST (combined (combined 6-10 conference records) & FCS Mercer

They had almost an identical strength of schedule as us and finished with 1 more regular season win.

Plus doesn’t Tommy average a touchdown like every 3 minutes vs UNC?

UNC is good and talented with a proven dynamic qb with tons of athletes around him. We might be able to score on them, but it's gonna be an uphill battle.

True, but - Mack Brown was lamenting not too long ago that it was hard to practice with only 6 OL’s available.

They may be even worse off up front than we are.

if you told me in week 3 we were 21pt dogs it would make sense.. week 1 who knows. UNC scoring 40 wont surprise me. we scored about 30 pts a game the last 6 with oline and qb issues.. do we expect it to regress more than that or do they expect UNC to score 50? Will we see the big plays we gave up continue with this new scheme early?

Yeah, obviously they have athletes.

But I'm hoping that all of the opt-outs, COVID-19 situation, etc. impacting them makes them less than full strength.

And that Tommy gets just enough blocking to put some points up.

I'm also hoping that given the line, everything happening in the world, etc. that UNC is looking past us -- which ties to the point about Tommy above. Would love to be in the third quarter having put up a ton of points, and UNC suddenly finding themselves in a game.

Really hope that Pat Davis can play, and that the OL does just enough. And of course, avoids injury.

actually it is legal to bet on line in NYS. there are just no legal places to do it so offshore is really the only recourse. betting is legal.. taking the bets is whats not allowed.

This line is more about how bad we're expected to be vs how good UNC is. I've never understood why anyone would base their predictions on "last season" and this year that's even crazier w/ Covid, etc.
UNC has the edge playing at home & their QB is a gamer. I expect a loss, but would take the pts on this one.
