Am I the only one on this board who is surprised that no announcement has been made yet about new additions to the Big East? I am not so naive as to think that "Agressive" means the same thing to John Marinatto that it does to most people. However, it is now mid-November, nearly six weeks since Marinatto stated in no uncertain terms that the BE was going to be decisive and proactive in replacing SU, Pitt and TCU and going to 12 football members. What the heck is holding up the BE? Villanova? It looks like the same old same old from the Providence crowd once again.

...talk is that the BCS will go for championship and other bowls based solely on ranking and not conferences next time around for contract. That would make it less necessary for independents to sign on to conferences unless of course they cannot get good competition...so we may be in holding pattern...
I want the BE to expand quickly...because faster it is done, earlier we leave and get to ACC

I know a guy who used to believe that a good technique for getting girls was to walk through the grocery store and proposition "chicks" for sex. His feeling was that a significant percentage would be insulted, angry, hostile or indignant. And he would get slapped a fair share of the times. But eventually he would hit pay dirt. Picture Marinatto walking up and down the aisle at Wegmans looking for new BE members.

He may be getting some looks back by the skanks, but the hot chicks probably aren't even going to waste the energy to be indignant.

expansion? Crap with our 3 game losing streak and the PSU scandal, I totally forgot about expansion. :bat:

They won't announce anything until they (believe that they) have all of their ducks in a row.

You got UCF in hot water right now. You got Boise probably thinking that if they leave and the Big East doesn't get a BCS spot then why the hell are they in the Big East for football. So why would they jump before they get any assurance.

As I said weeks ago, Big East football is over! It's dead. They won't get a spot in the next round of the BCS and the few teams left will have to find a new home for their football programs. It's over!

It was hard to follow given the dominating story of last week, but I believe it was tweeted by one of the good ones (McMurphy?) that the Big East was fully aware of what UCF was facing when they decided to offer them.

Czabe had an interesting thought today, he wondered since Kellen Moore would be departing, and maybe even Chris Pederson does as well, if we'd be talking 5-10 years from now about that nice Boise State run that seemed to end with the TCU loss that one day.

I think Stern is right on the mark. The BE basketball schools have got to be having second thoughts. With UCF's problems, the AQ in doubt, & Boise St.'s future; they have to be reconsidering this proposed clusterf*ck of a conference. Is it worth losing your identity for?

I didn't, I'm just embarrassed that an ACC team has lost three straight to teams from the shitty Big East.
