Seriously, that 3-57 mark by DePaul is awesome on so many different levels.

I dont know whats worse, 3-57 for depaul or indiana's 2-30 road record in the big 10 under crean.

What was the BE's reason for even inviting DePaul in the first place? I had always assumed it was so ND had someone to play paddy cake with but never actually known.

We are finally the dominant team in the conference after years at look up art Georgetown, Connecticut and Pitt.

And we're leaving.

Keep doing what we're doing; win the BE reg. season title; win the BET; win the National title; then leave on top.

Then next year be with UNC, Duke and Pitt. While UConn is playing SMU for a shot at the Big East title game in Orlando.

Oh how perfect that'd be.

Gtown was THE program in the Big East in the 80s: first BE team to make the Elite Eight, first to make the Final Four, first to win the National Championship, first to be in multiple FFs - they were the program everyone else in the conference was compared to.

UConn was THE program in the 90s and still is basically because they're the ones who have had and are having the most success in the NCAAT.

Pitt has done very well during regular season conference play but that isn't nearly as important as post-season success in the NCAAT, they've never been the best program in the conference.

Syracuse was and is arguably the second best program in the BE during most of Gtown's and UConn's run. During the late 80s you could make a case SU was the best but I still think the Hoyas were. Unfortunately SU is leaving the conference and we'll never know if, sometime in the future, the Orange would be considered "THE BEST".
