Big East Tournament.. plenty of great seats available!

I don't understand why everybody is crapping on the Big East so bad. I for one loved the BE and would have preferred everything to stay the same. Outside of Duke and UNC the ACC schedule looks rather boring and like a weak ooc schedule.

Don't know why you guys feel the need to stomp on the BE while it's down, it's something Syracuse help build and made it into the best basketball conference by far and a top football conference at one point. Their basketball isn't even that bad right now.

The conference that calls itself the "Big East" is not the same entity that was called the Big East just last season. From a continuity standpoint, the conference that we were a part of is now the American. The schools comprising the current version of the Big East purchased the name and logo from Cincinnati, UConn and USF. So, while the name might be the same, it is not the same "Big East" that we helped to build.

I loved playing some of schools, but the conference leadership really ticked me off. Their bias in protecting Providence and other small Catholic schools really turned me sour. It took forever for a 9th football team because the small Catholic schools were afraid of getting less Syracuse/UConn at home when the football schools needed that 4-4 balance for scheduling. Also, the conference didn't take care of the football schools with Saturday home games during the January football recruiting season as much as they could have. I miss playing Georgetown, Villanova, but the rest weren't that much IMO.

Obviously things changed radically for the Big East that SU left, but I would argue that the current Big East, with five of the eight charter members making up half the membership of a league that doesn't play football, is more like the conference that SU helped build.

People can certainly think what they want about the conference, but I have no hard feelings and will remember that era fondly.
