If you knew your theory to be fact, you wouldn't be on other message boards fishing for opinions. You're obviously a UT homer who couldn't fathom the fact that Texas isn't controlling their own destiny. You completely ignore the fact that Texas was in talks with both the Pac 12, and B1G about leaving before settling back in the Big 12 for the time being. Texas is more likely to become and independent (and make piles of money) than Notre Dame is to join the Big 12. The super stable Big 12 had teams in talks about possibly joining the Big East! This was within the past calander year, and a stable conference that does not make. Texas is a big boy and will be fine regardless but currently aTm, Nebraska, and Colorado all make more money from their conference affiliations. When the BTN contract comes up again, Nebraska will make a ton more money than Texas unless of course Texas joins the B1G as well which is where they would currently be if the B1G were willing to take OU and OSU as well. The fact that you are talking about teams having the B1G as "backup" in case they don't get picked up by the SEC or Big 12 is lunacy and proves you don't have any sort of firm grasp on the college football pecking order. You think Texas (Big 12) > SEC > B1G when in actuality B1G > SEC >>>>>> Big 12
