I see the guard play with George and Starling as the biggest issue for this team . Both are subpar shooters and both struggle to create partly due to the fact that defenders give them space before they try to penetrate since they know they're not good shooters. A change in the starting lineup wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Couldn't agree more. Our guards stink. Don't excuse Anthony here either. We don't have a dribbler, shooter, or facilitator on the team. Everyone's first choice is shoot. Can't win that way.

If there's no plan, you need your guards to be supreme athletes and shooters. Tyrese Haliburton might not be able to have much success with offense we're running.
Our offense runs minimal plays. Coming out of timeouts is a very good proxy. Today when Clemson had the ball out of a timeout they ran a set play that most cases resulted in a basket . On the other side we did nothing coming out of a timeout with the ball.

I didn’t even watch the game today. Knew what was coming. Clemson is very well coached and a bad matchup for us. I listened to the game until Matt and Coach’s audible exasperation after Kiyan had the ball stripped for an uncontested layup, and then Souare stepped over the end line on the ensuing inbounds pass. That was all I could handle.

Hard to defend Red at this point. I love the guy, but he is not the coach to bring this program back to the pinnacle. If we somehow go on a run from now till the end of the season, I’ll gladly eat crow. For now, it’s time for JW to pull out the Rolodex and get serious about next season and the future of this program. He needs to call a meeting with Melo and start figuring this out. Can’t wait and let the team fall apart at the end of the season.

I love the players on this team. They are good guys, easy to cheer for, and they have a ton of talent. They also have zero confidence in themselves right now, on the offensive side of the ball anyway, and that’s because our coach doesn’t know how to use the talent he has. He’s lost that locker room, my opinion only. The kids seem to be looking for a leader both on and off the floor, and at this point in the season, that speaks volumes. There is no plan and no direction. Change is needed, and hopefully the team won’t be stripped down to the bone when the change comes.

I think they are too confident in their shooting ability. George, Kiyan, and JJ seem to have no concerns about hoisting shots, no matter the situation.

It’s easy to beat up on George, but he had 6 assists and outrebounded Kyle and Souare collectively.

That’s right; our point guard had more boards than our two centers put together. And somehow we are all OK with that…
Agree. I've been a huge Kyle fan, but yesterday wasn't his best effort.

I cannot get mad with giving up 64 points. Donnie getting 9 boards solved a lot of problems and rebounds were a push. We blocked 6 shots. I'd pencil that in all year.

This is a big problem. Nait George against:

Clemson: 2-9
Tenn: 1-7
ISU: 1-5
Kansas: 1-4
Houston: 4-13

Total: 9-38
