Just absolutely destroying the NCAA. Also laying out a fantastic defense of JB. Just went to commercial break but I think they will still be talking Cuse when they get back. If you can catch it on podcast later, it's definitely worth a listen.

No matter what happens I can't get the fact out of my head that the NCAA is going to get a billion dollars in ad revenues from this year's NCAA basketball tournament. It's really quite stunning. Just think of the kind of politics involved with mult-millionaires running the NCAA.

Wow. This was an absolute schooling. Bilas went scorched earth on the NCAA. If you guys missed the whole thing, you have to listen to the podcast or dvr the replay.

An absolute TKO of the NCAA by Bilas this morning.

Bilas said flat out the sanctions were over the line and too harsh. Then went on to shame the NCAA and then talk about the ridiculousness of expecting the HC to know everything that goes on in every moment of every day in the program.

My favorite part was his relentless mocking of the terminology the NCAA used. "Failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance"... "What is that!? It's a made up term to make it look like oOoOOo look at how bad this was!"

I like that he equates "an atmosphere of compliance" to Febreze. Just need to spray every week or so and we will achieve all our compliance goals.

They change subjects to talk about the games yesterday. Golic makes a joke about all the freaking out over blood. Says a ND guy got bloodied yesterday and they run out and clean him up and clean up the floor and then says "it's a bit much". Bilas, out of nowhere, "Who's responsible for all this blood!? The NCAA has rules about this stuff, Mike! Jim Boeheim is responsible for all this blood!!" Omg, I'm dying right now

UNC should get the death penalty considering what we got...

Any idea when this pod cast will be posted?

Better than that tool Bill Simmons drunk tweeting how much he thinks Boeheim is a step or two removed from Hitler.

Yeah... I usually like Simmons' takes on things, but I feel like he was wayyyy misguided and over the top on this and the Ray Rice/Goodell situation.

Thx

No problem. I'd say before noon at the very latest.

Edit: They'll also probably have it split into sections, so if you click on their podcast, it will have different clips "Recommended For You" and one of them will likely be their H0T Takes on Boeheim.

Wouldn't be the first time Golic and Simmons disagreed.

Why do you keep saying the people running the NCAA get a billion dollars. You say it in every thread and it's an incorrect straw man.

They aren't getting add dollars, CBS has paid a rights fee.

And where do you think that money goes? Do you think the "NCAA" is netting a billion dollars?

Is much of what they do on the enforcement side screwed up, yep.

But some of you folks are nuts on the money thing.

Here's where I get my news. John Oliver is the only person I trust. He's english you know so he speaks with authority.

Well, it's a billion dollars in ad revenue, but keep in mind, the NCAA pays for airfare, hotels, etc, for every team in the tournament. That's going to add up. They have to pay for every single expense at every single regional site, from paying the officials, to the people running the scoreboard, etc. Literally, they pay for every single aspect of the tournament out of whatever revenue they bring in.

Obviously there's going to be a lot of money left over, but I don't think people realize how much they have to spend on championships every year. It's absurd, especially when you consider they're paying for all of these expenses at D1, D2, and D3 levels, across all sports, and the D3 swimming and diving championship sure as hell isn't bringing in any revenue to offset the hotel and airfare of the teams and individual swimmers competing, for example.

Well, a 1000 million can buy a lot of hotel rooms and airfares.
