Bills 2024 Thread - Misery loves company

Don’t think they get to the Super Bowl with this D… but it is definitely entertaining. Josh is playing at a level I’ve haven’t seen since 13 seconds.

How is the D this bad with all the high picks on the dline?

Interior D-line has been a disappointment this year. I think father time is catching up to Daquon and Oliver has not been good this year although he played great today and against the Chiefs. Groot has been good this year but he can't do it all himself

The defense is too small and yet not fast. You gotta be big or fast . You can’t be neither

They got two stops to start the game...

but i hear you
They were fired up after being humiliated. What’s disappointing is how easily the lions moved the ball second half when the bills didn’t even have to defend the run. It’s players , scheme, coaching , or all three

On that chest pass for a TD (called back), Allen did a no look start walking to the sidelines thing the moment he released the ball.
Yeah I saw that, he knew it was over there. Brutal.

The injuries that will pop up after this one is the biggest concern at this point. Could be quite a bit From Williams and Milano at LB, safety position as well. Hopefully, Douglas, Rapp and or Hamlin can come back. Bishop looks like he will be done for the year. Have to think Hyde will be activated at some point.

Looked like Spencer Brown had a stinger or something there towards the end of the game as well.

Bishop looked bad but turns out he'll be fine.

The Lions are the best offense in football as well. That might have something to do with it, that and all the injuries when the starters at safety are borderline at best. The bills aren't a very good defense to begin with to say the least. I don't think anyone was expecting a slobber knocker out there. They got a few stops and outlasted them in the 2nd half. Bills won the game. It will most likely bite them in the ass again at some point but I don't think giving up a bunch of points to Detroit was overly alarming. Team is 11-3 not 5-9 and way overachieving considering the expectations heading into the year.

This is why we all want to avoid the Ravens at all costs

That's good, I guess? :) He did have 5 tackles and seems pretty quick and athletic but still needs more reps I am sure

He's the future there... so the more reps he can get now the better.

The priority this offseason needs to be upgrading the d-line, both safeties and LBs... basically everywhere but corner. The Bills need to be ruthless here on out in terms of which D players stay. On the line anyone other than Oliver and Groot should be on the chopping block. I'm not sure they should count on Milano going forward either. He's a great player in every skill but availability to play. I am comfortable with Bernard and Williams as secondary LBs, but they need a stud MLB. The DBs are okay, but they need more depth. I'm not sold on any of the safeties... Rapp is okay but he's not elite. Bishop is flashing some talent and that's about it.

My dream FA move this year? Good bye Von Miller... hello Micah Parsons.

And no I'm not saying they can't win the SB this year... I just don't know if a team with a D this bad can even get there. Fear the Raven (or any there team with a good running game).

Assuming you would keep Rousseau?

Wonder if Bills fans need to call out Ed Oliver again all week in order to motivate him or nah.

Yep… he seems to be a plus player along with Oliver. Keeping Epinesa was a mistake… along with drafting that dude from Wake. All of their DT signings seem to underperform. Beane has done really poorly in identifying defensive line talent.

ALLEN'S Stats Yesterday - NIce!

I was just lauding the chiefs on their not making mistakes or beating themselves. Well I have to say , and NONE of the brilliant talking heads even mentioned this after the fact, but the chiefs certainly hurt themselves in getting mahommes injured.

How? You say? Well they were up 21-7 in the 4th against a hapless browns team and instead of just running the ball and using clock, they kept having their QB drop and pass. why? You don’t need to score any more points !

This was across multiple drives culminating in the decision to go for it on 4th and 3 for no reason. And on THAT drop back, their QB got hammered and suffered a high ankle sprain. If I were a chiefs fan, I’d be furious.

just kick the ball there and the game is secured. They were really scared the browns were going to score two TD ? Did they watch the game ?

or Bills' fans and people would be calling for McDermott to be fired!! Things happen even with a HOF coach

Fun Bills fan story. My buddy is a regional manager for a pretty big chemical supply company. His territory includes Detroit. The guy who manages Detroit for him wanted him to come to the Christmas party he has for his area sales people, and have the parent company pay for it. My buddy, who grew up near Jamestown and is a lifelong Bills fan, said he would do it, but only if the guy took him to the Lions- Bills game. What a great trade!!!

Chargers winning tonight cracks the door open for the Bengals to grab that last playoff seed if they can win out. Could be Buffalo vs Cincy (2 vs 7) in Round 1 of the playoffs. Would be an interesting opponent to say the least.

Definitely most likely we play LAC or DEN. Think the preference has to be DEN in that situation. It’s not impossible we would play Baltimore either, which would be a nightmare.
