BJ Johnson to LaSalle

When the ACC and A-10 agreed to let the ACC take the A-10's lease for Barclays Center for the 2017 and 2018 ACC tournaments the conferences agreed they would play doubleheaders at the Barclay's Center during those season. So in 2017 or 2018 we could play LaSalle or atleast see Johnson against an ACC school those seasons.

I was under the impression that at least one BE school was very interested. I know that't not P5 but any P5 other than ACC is going to be deep south, midwest or west and BJ is a North East kid.
How could you have forgotten about Rutgers (or Maryland, for that matter)?

Awesome. Great move for BJ. He will be a game changer in that conference.

Hell Rutgers forgets they have a basketball team. The only time they wee relevant in the last two years was when they were getting curb stomped by 60 and Pitino had to explain why he was so mean.

Yes, but he's got to redshirt so he won't play. Then in 2016-17 the ACC will take over.
Does the A-10 have Barclay the week before the ACC comes in? But that may just be a half-baked idea that came to me in a dream. Especially as the Islanders will be sharing the building with the Nets at that point.

No. Barclays will host:

2016 - A-10
2017 - ACC
2018 - ACC
2019 - A-10
2020 - A-10
2021 - A-10

Plus doubleheaders featuring ACC & A-10 schools beginning next year at Barclays Center. Will be interesting to see who they choose for the first batch.

See. That's how you get the right information out there--just post something wrong, and wait to be corrected.

Thanks for setting me straight.

I will guess we would be matched with St. Bonaventure in one of those years when we play.

Speaking of La Salle...think about how good BJ's dad's team must have been. They had BJ's dad, Lionel Simmons, and Timmy Legler. That's not too shabby.

Legler did play with Bobby Johnson but was gone by 1989-90, the best LaSalle team of that era. Simmons, Randy Woods, Doug Overton, all from Philly with future NBA careers. Jack Hurd, from nearby Lititz, Pa, and Milko Lieverst were the other starters. Johnson was the 6th man. Lost to Clemson in the then 2nd Rd, a team with Dale Davis and Elden Campbell.
