One recruiting service just did an article on 5 players they feel could out perform their ranking. The first person they mentioned was none other then BJ Johnson. As many of us feel we got a steal with this kid, and now the services seem to finally be catching up with us. They went on to say that he is a long, super athletic, late bloomer, with a nice outside shot who can eventually put up big numbers later in his career for a loaded Syracuse roster.

How can he be a late bloomer - isn't he still 16 or just turned 17?

Sounds like BJ has been working hard to get ready for his collegiate career [based upon what his father has been posting]. Seems to me that once his physical maturity catches up to his skill level, he's going to be a stud.

Might not happen year 1 for BJ, but there is no doubt in my mind that he is going to be a star in our system down the road. Big fan of this recruit.

I have to say, I just cannot get used to this new fashion of kids wearing socks with sandals. Call me square, but wow, that's an ugly look. But at least BJ's socks are Orange, so that counts for something! LOL

I think this incoming class of recruits is loaded with "steals".

BJJ, Patterson, and Chino are all far better players than the respect they're shown. Even Roberson might be underrated as just a top 50 player. Though I do believe that it will take a few years and some chemistry before things materialize and the value of these players gets realized.

I like my labeling of this class as the "CJ Fair class" ... it's a class packed with great players gone unnoticed (and fits nicely with CJ about to be a senior leader).

I think Roberson will eventually be a stud [and he was rated higher than top 50--more in the 20-25 range]. And I think that down the road, BJ will prove to be an impact player, as well.

But I completely, 100% agree about the others. Chino and Patterson look like four year program guys. Yes, we want to land blue chip recruits like McCullough, but guys like Chino / Patterson could have big impacts, as well, and be the glue guys over the course of their career.

That old age feeling starts kicking in when I see dates of birth for our kids that are later than my high school graduation...

It's like that first Playboy centerfold that I saw with a DOB later than mine. What a tragic day for me that was...

Just wait until they are after your college graduation date and you were on the 8 year plan like me. Which is exactly BJ for me.
