BJ Johnson

I used to rock umbros and sambas... Circa 1999/. I made that sheet look good, with shin high socks no less.
Add one of these to complete the 90s ensemble.

i think the main reason for sock n sandal is to reduce sweat/odor. i don't think anybody will argue the overall comfort and convenience of sandal. the only drawback is if you wear them for an extended period of time your feet begin to sweat which eventually leads to stanky feet. the addition of the sock absorbs the odor while still allowing you the overall comfort of the sandal. unless this is a fashion statement, that has always been my reasoning.

Hopefully BJ and his 2013 Class can win more then this 86' Class: 100 wins in four yrs. (80 wins soph-senior season)
I always use this as a challenge for BJ to accomplish and then some in his college career. No sandals/flip flops. Lol

Here's to 1986, the number 1 hit! Rock Me Amadeus.

How did I miss this amazing thread?! Also, this thread prompted me to google and find that Fila does still in fact make shoes and clothing.

Anyone else have these beauties way back when?

Sandals with socks would not be allowed by my local Fashion Police.

I'm anti-sandals/socks outdoors w/ or w/out socks. No reason for it other than getting the mail.

I had the blue ones with the white leather accents/outline thing... which I then hand colored red, instead of white, with a permanent marker... nothing like customized sneakers when you are in high school. 90's swag.

I'm not trying to argue but I thought they were the same thing. What is the difference?

The thing that goes between your toes makes them flip flops. Sandles goes across the top of your foot.

Well I was guarding BJ on Tuesday Night while playing 4 on 4 games. (Also watching from the sidelines) Well he must have gotten pissed off and took offense to the old man scoring in the previous meeting last week. I was really impressed by the progress of BJ's improvement on his game from his skillset and physicality. He played strong and fast, knocked down open and contested jump shots both mid range and deep, able to catch and shoot with lift/quickness, he went off the bounce from both the right and left sides with confidence and played sound defense on the perimeter and in the post. During the contests, I tried putting him different situations from a defensive standpoint. He was able to take advantage of the situation (ME) with the decisive/aggressive and correct scoring attack. The workouts and constant gym time along with the strength/conditioning are clearly paying off. BJ actually workout for hours the day of his prom. He is definitely committed to getting better all the time. As for me, I will continue to challenge him but I have to admit that I can no longer take him one on one. From a talent/knowledge standpoint, BJ has moved to another level. He continues to workout with Todd Barnes (strength and conditioning coach) for 3 sessions a week until he hits the CUSE campus by July along with the weight room on the other days. BJ will also being working with ball handling instructor Irv McGill. He continues to workout on a daily basis in the gym.
