Blackout Looms of ESPN on YouTubeTV

Can someone help me? I have YTTV and separately have Disney play inc espn select (formerly plus). I cannot get the espn games at all even though I have the separate subscription. What gives?

Check how you are signed into ESPN. If you are signed in with your TV provider and that being YTTV then you will not get any ESPN stuff. You have to log out and log back in with your Disney log in. That may or may not work but that is what I did and I was able to watch some stuff but then they changed to ESPN unlimited or whatever and I wasnt able to watch anything

There are 2 separate logins on the ESPN App (at least for me). The top one is provider and the second one is Disney account. The second one gives access to ESPN+ events, of you have it.

FWIW, I have YTTV (which I prefer) and ESPN+ (no longer viable b/c of dispute). I just upgraded my ESPN+ subscription to Unlimited (easy to do). Because of where this falls on my ESPN billing cycle, the cost for the upgrade was $10.99 (until the end of November for me and then jumps to $29.99 next cycle). I figured that was less of a hassle and less expensive the having to go with 1 day passes or free trials over and over if this dispute drags on.

That's what I have as well. It is confusing, for sure. As I understand it, with espn select, you will NOT be able to watch cuse bb or fb today. Cuse FB is on the main espn channel, which we don't get access to with espn select. Looking at the schedule below, the basketball game is unfortunately one of just a few not listed as espn +. Instead, it's listed on ACCN, which I'm pretty sure we do not have access to either.

EDIT: After experimenting with different channels, what I stated above is correct. Just go to the espn app and at the top click on "Schedule and Replays". Then click on "Upcoming". The only thing that you can access with espn select is content that has ESPN+ listed to the right. We can NOT access espn, espnu, espn2, accn, etc. Only espn+.

Looks like I'll be getting another Hulu one day pass, although this is starting to add up (this will be my 3rd one day pass in about a week). This sucks. Maybe I should cut my losses and just sign up for a month instead. I don't know.
I was going to use this same visual aid to explain it. ESPN Select is what used to be ESPN+ and will only get what displays when you filter by ESPN+ on the schedule. ESPN Unlimited gets your everything on the schedule

I was going to go this route but I wanted to try this one day 6 dollar sling pass thing and see if that works I imagine at some point this will be resolved

For those who have Hulu + Live TV...

1) I'm looking at their plans and it appears that you get Disney + and ESPN Select as part of the subscription. Is that correct? I ask because currently I pay about $83 for YTTV and then pay $20 for ESPN Select.

2) I'm confused about the ads in your library. What exactly has ads and what doesn't? I don't want ads for games and programs I record. I don't care about regular Disney stuff.
Yes. I got first 3 months for 64.99 and it includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited. NFL red zone included. I honestly haven’t noticed ads being different than what I’m used to with YTTV.

I have had the Hulu live package for quite a while. The price for the package just rose to almost $97 a month including taxes this month. I contemplated dropping live tv but there are games on Fox Sports and others I would lose. Some of those I could pick up over the air through antannae if I had one, but the convenience of having everything in one place is really what I am paying for. My decision was also based on the ability to follow Iowa State as well since I live in Iowa. In the end there may be some slightly cheaper plans out there, but when you stack costs and then factor in convenience, it is still hard to beat the price.

I think everything is switching to the disney log in. I just had to set up a new Roku and both Hulu and ESPN would only accept the disney log in, even though I had log in's for each app individually.

I figured Hulu would exploit the contract dispute and increase prices. I didn't think it would be immediate.

I just got the email about the $20 credit. It said we'll get a follow up email with instructions on how to redeem it in the coming days. Not sure why they can't just do it automatically (I know they can, but they just want to save money on those who don't redeem)

Same...

"Over the next few days, you will receive a follow-up email with instructions on how to redeem your $20 credit for YouTube TV. Once redeemed, this will be applied to your next bill."
