Team A: 18-4 conference record 6-3 RPI 25, Non-conference SOS 185, Record vs RPI top 25 0-4, top 26- 50 1-0, top 51-100 6-0.

Team B: 16-6 conference record 6-3 RPI 36, Non-conference SOS 62. Record vs RPI top 25 1-3, top 26-50 1-0, top 51-100 5-2

Team C 14-9 conference record 6-4 RPI 45, Non-conference SOS 5, Record vs RPI top 25 1-3, top 26-50 1-2, top 51-100 3-0

Team D 17-4 conference record 6-3 RPI 32 Non-conference S0S 68, Record vs RPI top 25 1-0, top 26-50 2-3, top 51-100 3-0

Team E: 17-5 conference record 6-3 RPI 46 Non-conference SOS 269, Record vs RPI top 25 0-2, top 26-50 2-1, top 51-100 1-1

Team F: 14-7 conference record 4-4 RPI 39 Non-conference SOS 27, Record vs RPI top 25 2-3, top 26-50 2-0, top 51-100 2-3.

Questions: Can you figure which teams are which? Which teams would you put in? Which has the best resume. These are all NCAA caliber teams, but I don't think any of them are above a 6 seed right now at best.

A, B, and D would be the first three I'd take for the tournament, in some order. I also just looked up the RPI to see who they are so knowing which conferences they are in gives me pause with two or three of them, since they aren't exactly facing the stiffest competition yet still have conference losses.

I was just going over a blind resume this morning.

A- is Pitt
D- is UConn

I will confirm those two.

Hmmmmmm

Team A is definitely Pitt
Team B is Providence
Team C is Xavier
Team D...Southern Miss?
Team E..Arizona St?
Team F Florida State

Team A: 18-4 conference record 6-3 RPI 25, Non-conference SOS 185, Record vs RPI top 25 0-4, top 26- 50 1-0, top 51-100 6-0.

Clearly in, RPI and solid top 100 record. Probably not that far off a top 6 seed if they are in a power conference with some top 50 home wins available. Sounds like Pitt resume.

Team B: 16-6 conference record 6-3 RPI 36, Non-conference SOS 62. Record vs RPI top 25 1-3, top 26-50 1-0, top 51-100 5-2

Another team at 2-3 top 50, and 7-5 top 100 that is clearly in. Probably in the 8/9 range as well. With 12 games already vs top 100, seem to be a power conference team with a chance at home scalps to move up.

Team C 14-9 conference record 6-4 RPI 45, Non-conference SOS 5, Record vs RPI top 25 1-3, top 26-50 1-2, top 51-100 3-0

A bubble resume. But a .500 record vs top 100 which is OK. The non-conference SOS should also earn them some brownie points in bubble discussions. This team is probably amongst the last in / last out.

Team D 17-4 conference record 6-3 RPI 32 Non-conference S0S 68, Record vs RPI top 25 1-0, top 26-50 2-3, top 51-100 3-0

This is easily the best resume. 3 top 50 wins, 6-3 top 100. I assume based on the non con SOS of 68 they have some nice OOC wins as well. This team has to be really close to a 6 seed, if not one.

Team E: 17-5 conference record 6-3 RPI 46 Non-conference SOS 269, Record vs RPI top 25 0-2, top 26-50 2-1, top 51-100 1-1

This team needs to be careful - its on the bubble right now. Only played 7 top 100 games so far, and is 3-4 - that sounds like a team from a decent but not great conference Its non-conference SOS will bite them in the ass if they are in bubble discussions. They need to get clearly above that bubble line. Is this SMU?

Team F: 14-7 conference record 4-4 RPI 39 Non-conference SOS 27, Record vs RPI top 25 2-3, top 26-50 2-0, top 51-100 2-3.

I am fairly certain this is UNC. 4 top 50 wins, a solid non conference SOS. If they make the bubble those are great separators. Clearly in now, and could get in at 8-10 in the ACC.

Marsh got Team B which is Providence who has a pretty good resume and I think a superior one to Pitt right now.

So Team A is Pitt
Team B is Providence
Team D is UConn

I will give the rest now
Team C is BYU
Team E is SMU
Team F is North Carolina

I would rank them UConn, Providence, North Carolina, Pitt, BYU, SMU in that order.

I just figured out team C - BYU.

They may have the most interesting discussion amongst bubble teams this year.

Some top 50 wins.
A very good OOC schedule, with some tourney caliber wins.

But this is offset
Bad losses - already 4 sub 100 losses, and likely one or two more to come.
A non standout record in only a decent WCC conference.

Every bubble team has good and bad. But BYU has really good and really bad characteristics.

Will the committee focus on more?

I would rather have a team that plays people and wins some games and has some What losses rather than just piles up wins against nobodies a la Pitt.
