Who would you rather have coach the Orange if HCSS doesn't get it done in '15 for both could be available after next season.

I would take Kiffin who would bring in unbelievable skill players and light it up in the Dome...

Pelini seems like he would be a better fit- More blue collar. Plus, he had more success at Nebraska than Kiffin ever has. Both are , but I think Kiffin has a worse attitude.

Good question. Both would be awesome but I'll take Kiffin because he would bring the offense that we all want.

I think the ship on Kiffin ever being a HC at a P5 school again, has sailed. Pelini seems like a better choice but now that his QB is retiring and he is gonna go 3-13 next year, I would take Marrone next year. If he doesn't take the Jets job.

Pelini--and it isn't even close. One of those two options has proven that he can build a program, recruit, and win games at a high volume at the collegiate level. The other got hired initially based upon his father's name / accomplishments and proceeded to flub each opportunity that he's had, being universally disliked and burning bridges at each stop along the way.

Pelini is a proven commodity, Kiffin hasn't demonstrated that he has the chops to be a successful D1 coach. No brainer in Pelini's favor.

Shafer hopefully long term but kiffin everyday anyday, for offense and recruiting. I'd take 2 8-9 win seasons and then he off over 10 years of 4-7 wins if he had one or two random coaches in that span ... Maybe that's just me

Out of those two i would take Bo. I think that he would be a good fit for Syracuse. Lane would also be a good coach. He was very young when provided his first HC gig. Not ready for sure and didnt handle it well at all. Having said that i believe that he has grown up. There is no better mentor than Nick and the fact that Nick hired him speaks volumes as he could have had pretty much anyone. Both good choices. I hope that HCSS turns the ship next year and fully expect him to do so. Im a huge fan of his and it will be interesting to see what he does with the staff this off season given the fact that change is inevitable.

I'd take Kiffen. Can we please stop with the "blue collar" bull$h!t? I'm not even sure what that means in relation to football. Pelini is a defensive meathead just like the guy we got now, and the guy we had before. I'm over the midwestern run based football where we cant make a 5 yard completion.

I'd take Kiffen, let him sell SU to 4 star recruits for the 2 or 3 years he's here until he bolts for greener pastures.

Pelini is who he is. Kiffen might've learned something from Saban. Given the choice, I'd roll the dice on Kiffen. I'm not clamoring for either one, just playing along

Both are capable of turning Syracuse around. Lane Kiffen is the cheaper option and I consider more likely to be around a year or two more than Pelini. Neither Kiffen nor Pelini have coached a losing college football season in their life. Either of them would be substantially better hires than our last 3 head coaches.

i hear blue collar coach, i think "stupid" and it's totally unfair to real blue collar workers who aren't stupid.

Wow... I mean "blue collar" in terms of fitting in to the community, not in terms of football. I feel like Pelini would embrace and relate to Syracuse better than Kiffin could. Because, you know, there's community relations and stuff involved.

Kiffin would stay a year or 2 and walk. It's his MO. He's been a disaster of a head coach.

A proven, successful head coach or a guy who has proven he can't hack it as a HC at multiple locations and levels?

Tough choice!

i'll be interested to see how briles' kid does. hiring your kid is usually such a terrible idea - if it works, it probably means the baylor system is so easy that there'll be lots of candidates from that tree we can look for. maybe we won't have to pine for montgomery

Another coach who comes to mind is Butch Davis. Lots of experience and liked what I saw on 30 for 30, the 'U' part II. His days at UNC do raise the red flag though...

Kiffin is great for offense, SU needs that. According to article in paper, Kiffin is realizing his prior bonehead moves and apparently becoming a better coach under Sabin. We'll see.

This is so DUMB. Who cares about the coach fitting into the community. You think Nick Saban and his 7M house fit into the Community in Alabama? Whats the Beverley Hills suburb equivalent of Syracuse? I really couldnt care less if our future coach chose to live there provided he could establish an offense that was capable of throwing for 300 yards a game and completing TD's to you know, WIDE RECEIVERS.
