It just seemed like diminishing our fan contributions in the face of what AW (or any whale for that matter) may or may not donate. Of course our programs need whales, but that is really for the coaches and school admin to figure out, not fans.

I bring up the bootlicking because your close personal friend consistently gets the fans to do this free publicity piece for him through his social media efforts. He now has Etan doing this dirty work for him as well. AW is no dummy, and I am sure he is very happy to hear "fans" clamoring to "bring him back." It frames the university as the bad guy and AW as the hero, who is being denied his ability to save our program. That is where my reaction comes from.

Like him or don't like him, everyone has their reasons for feeling the way they do. I don't think anyone is asking anyone else to change their view of him. Just don't post falsehoods about him or anybody (not directed at you Domedog84).

Is that what you're doing? Hate him, who cares? But, hatred leads to irrational posts, like blaming him for things he doesn't have any control over. There are definitely things to criticize, but his placement on a poster that he had no say in or the construction of a roster he had no control over. Pick something real and go with that.

Just to be clear if there is a continued issue with my comments on AW earlier in this thread just directly respond to me instead of this weird casual reference about being obsessed. Before this thread I don’t think I’ve posted much of anything for a very long time offering any criticism. I’m happy to debate it in a healthy civil manner but the sidestep indirect comments? Come on.

There is ample criticism to go around the entire program going on multiple years and until we get back to winning that’s not changing and it’s a roundabout as to who ends up the focal point of the criticism.

I was actually referring to Belby not being in the photo.

As for AW and SU, I don’t have feelings one way or the other and normally don’t spend 3 milliseconds out of the month thinking about it. The AD seems at peace with the current relationship. That suggests to me that SU more than made up any shortfall from AW via other donors who are likely also at peace with the current relationship.

Just my hunch, right or wrong.

Either way, I’m not paid to worry about donors, except my own personal donations to SU, so I don’t.

Yeah, it seems like Belby should be on there, for sure. I would imagine someone on the BA side would have some say. Maybe it was Belby and he was being selfless? I have no idea.
