Boeheims Army vs Broad Street Bullies Thread 7/17...

Snuck out of there with a win. Gonna have to play better to win it all. Not a fan of Deane, some bad decisions and turnovers. Mookie not playing as hard as he can. Baye is a beast down low, still with that motor and able to show off the offensive skills. They didn't use the clock well at the end. That's why stall ball wins games. Couple bad early shots from CJ then Devo. The offense should be blowing teams out, but a little lazy on D. To be expected from this format. Wyatt 0-10 from deep. Kind of lucked out that they just chucked and missed. Gotta get the chemistry going now. Really want them to take the title.

This team is a pure PG from being awesome. All the guards are combos.

Definitely. If they could get Scoop out there, it would be over. Though not sure what type of shape he is in. Has to be a better PG option. Jonny would be nice, not sure his condition either though.

The Untouchables are Pitt based, so we have no shot.

But seriously, they have Levance Fields, Wanamaker, Gilbert Brown and Graves (where is Krauser?). They also list Rudy Gay on their roster, but he did not play these two games. Are NBA guys "legal?" His salary is only $20,000. And Antonio Cruz (of the Giants). This is a strange, but interesting tournament.

Sorry, just looked at the box score. Is Rondae Hollis Jefferson on the team they played today? Isn't he on the Nets?

Fields, ugh. Where's Chevy Troutman? I think if I grow old and start to lose it, I'll still remember those two, and Krauser.

Deane absolutely did not play well tonight but I just want to add that this was, imo, his worst TBT game in two years (if memory serves). He had games last year where we absolutely do not win without him. I really hope this was just an off day. He's this team's best chance at having a true lead guard.

Watching this for the second year now, some questions;

-I assume that they know that Donte is not going to be there and they have him rostered because he can be available in later rounds if they continue to advance? When the articles call him a "no-show" it gives a different connotation to his participation and to the group....when I think we as fans want to believe that each of the guys is 100% all-Cuse, all-Boeheim, all-in.

-Curious how many teams have guys like Donte? Would love to know when looking at rosters and such who is actually an active participant and who is a big maybe.

-How much did these guys get to practice together? I assume it was one or two practices and then largely just high level pick up ball, but with the advantage that all of the guys have played in the same system so that must have some benefit to it.

-This is just laziness on my part, because the info is probably out there, but how many of the guys are still playing actively somewhere, either professionally or semi-pro? Would love to see a run down on what each guy did most recently and even what they've done since leaving Cuse. Guys like Hak I more or less know, but I really have no idea what Terrence Roberts and Mookie have been up to.

-What do these guys do between Sunday and next Thursday? Do they hang in Philly and practice? Come to Cuse and use the Melo center? Go home and hope that everyone makes it back by next Thursday's game?

-Where is DNic?

For one of your questions, here is a brief summary of where they played last:

CJ Fair - D League
Brandon Triche - rehabbed torn ACL last year but had been playing in Italy
Hakim Warrick - On February 24, 2016, Warrick signed to play in Greece, with Olympiacos of the Greek Basket League and Euroleague, for the rest of the season

Eric Devendorf - On February 16, 2016, Devendorf signed with the Super City Rangers for the 2016 New Zealand NBL season, returning to the club for a second stint.

Baye Keita - playing in Denmark

Terrence Roberts - On February 16, 2016, Roberts signed with the Super City Rangers for the 2016 New Zealand NBL season.[ He was basically out of basketball for three years before that.

Donte Greene - Pretty sure they said he was trying to catch on with a team in Bulgaria.

Figured there had to be a reason he's out there in crunch time. I watched last year, and wasn't big on him or down on him. Haven't seen enough to have a strong opinion, so will definitely take yours and others over mine. He does hit some big shots.

The players did seem like they wanted to keep the ball out of his hands towards the end. Everyone has a bad game though, and they wanna win. Blackwell had him setting screens at the end. Chemistry is gonna be huge. They have to trust each other, and not try to do it all when they get the ball. Many guilty of that this game. They have the best team, I think. Just need better effort out of some, and to play smarter. Pushing it with nothing there, and bad shots too much. I hope JB isn't watching.
