Maybe, just maybe some sweet soul on the staff had a hand in making the Buddy thing happen purposefully to make Rosie feel a little bit less disrespected? A retired number vs a kid in his 3rd game. As improbable as it may sound, there is a probability that at least one of those improbable things will happen now and then when a person feels properly motivated. (come on, who else on here brings you these thoughts? Do I really belong in Belize? ).

Think about it, what is the probability the most famous name in the city is spelled wrong on mistake? Just something to consider. At times I like to look for the good in humanity. G*d bless you, "Bowie".
