SOPHOMORE defensive captain with Ksam and clark as anchors. Whitner(frosh) getting crazy reps this early.

True frosh dungey, fredericks, ish our best players on O.

Guys, we all loved the feel good of 3-1, but this is reality

USF is young too. No excuse to get beat by that team by that much. Still a long season ahead but this one definitely hurts the momentum we had going. Have to beat UVA next week.

Future's still bright. Just find a way to get to 6 wins and get those extra practices. In the meantime this offense should treat us to some special plays.

We seem to play up/down to competition sometimes... All the time, at least for a half.

The numbers look worse on paper than it really was. Whitner's blunder was literally a 14 pt swing, from a potential 31 -31 to 38-24. After that the game was over.

Not that it makes the situation any better, but I firmly believe if Whitner doesn't do that, you're probably looking at a close win for either us or USF. And IMO we should have been in a position to have won this game without a close win. Missed opportunity for sure.

I am trying to be optimistic but this performance was abysmal. We may have to beat both UVA and Pitt to get to 6.

Only thing giving me hope is Dungey. The kid is going to be the next great Syracuse QB. The problem is the coaching is pretty bad; especially on the defensive side. I feel like this is Grob D all over again. Undisciplined, poor tackling, out of position. Incredibly frustrating to watch. I hope this game was an anomaly but i fear we're headed down the same road.

He was brutal today. The end stat line looks decent enough but in the 1st half he was putrid. He missed many open guys and wasn't even close. He had no confidence in his arm the entire 1st half. Some terrible decisions he made all day long.

It might just be 1 bad game at the end of the day, but he was not good today. If he continues to play like this vs "good" teams they aint' gonna win many more games. He needs to play better. This team isn't built to overcome bad QB play (few teams are in general and we sure as heck ain't one of them)

They didn't have confidence in him cause if you saw some of his passes early in the game he looked like he couldn't have started for CBA let alone a major college program

He wasnt very good in the first half but i attribute that to nerves of it being his first game on the road and also due to the fact that he hadnt taken a snap in 3 weeks.

No I'm not. It's excuses for his poor play. He was bad today, some people just can't say it. They want to use the "he hasn't played in 3 weeks"..."he's just out of high school"..."it's his first road game".

The play calling didn't do him any favors the first half
You cant critique SU football the same way you do NFL.

21-34 232 yds 2 TDs 1 Int and 1 rushing td... is a pretty solid day especially for a true freshman on his first road game. Not sure if we were watching the same game?

It was USF not FSU he was playing folks. Not like he was up against a team from a Power 5 conference who was ranked.

I also don't think the play calling early did him any favors.

Although I'm willing to partially excuse it, because I think the coaches were ultra conservative with him since this was his first game action since that enormous hit he took. Partially.

As I said the stat line didn't tell the story. But whatever believe what ya want. He wasn't good today
