You've got to be proud if you're a Syracuse alumnus or fan right now after the Orange's 4-1 start. Saturday's near-upset at Clemson would've catapulted Dino Babers' team into the Top 25, but the defense didn't hold up its end of the bargain late against the Tigers' fierce rushing attack. Still, an eight or nine-win season is very much in play for a program on the upswing. Colorado is 4-0, but hasn't beaten anyone yet and battle Arizona State, USC and Washington over the next three games. We'll know quickly just how good the Buffaloes really are this season.

My: Take...a nice rematch of the 92 Fiesta Bowl.

Nashville looks good. Cheap nonstop flights from DC with good flight times. I'm in. Can they just announce tomorrow so I can lock in the price? You can trust us to win enough.

The only problem with El Paso...kinda hard to get too. The airport only has 14 nonstop destinations. Prices look pretty steep. They do have Southwest, Allegiant and Frontier but they are limited in destinations.

Another option is to fly into DFW, AUS, SAT, TUS or PHX and spend a few days there and drive to El Paso.

But one of those 14 is to Houston, so I'm good :D

El Paso is no garden spot. Rather go to Memphis.

Of all major cities in the lower 48 states, El Paso is the farthest away from any other major city. That is a PITA destination. Count me in for Nashville! Pinstripe is fine but a new destination and opponent would be ideal.

I couldn't find a good pizza spot the first time I went to Nashville so if SU wouldn't mind I'd like to try to see if I could this bowl season.

Start paying attention to the ACC standings. After the playoff/NEW Year's 6 the other bowls use conference record, not overall record to select teams. The ACC has a one win rule. If SU went 6-2 in conference (entirely possible), a bowl could select a 5-3 team before SU, but not a 4-4 team. Since SU, Pitt, and BC are lepers to all ACC bowl tie-ins except Pinstripe and maybe Military bowls, the Orangemen will have to finish well enough to force one of the warmer destination bowls to take them.

There is no good pizza South of the Mason-Dixon line.

Well then, it looks we'll have to tell SU to continue to win so we can find out if that's still true.

at this point though if we do what we hope and ncst/clem as well you can easily pitt/bc not going to a bowl as well. could find only 7-8 ACC bowl teams if FSU/UL also say off track and Wake has to upset someone now too.

Agree on that not to mention I don't look at El Paso as a "destination" city, please don't send us to BFE Texas!

Wait, you didn't know about Mellow Mushroom? :p

I would think there is little chance we play in the Pinstripe. We're gonna play there 2x in the course of 45 days? That sounds like a recipe for no ticket sales.
Agree. There is a lot of football to be played but I think it likely we will be headed to DC for a bowl game. If we finish really badly, we go to Detroit. If we do really well, we will probably play in a warmer place.

In general, I think the better we finish, the further south we head.

If Penn State loses a couple more, I could see us playing them in the Pinstripe. But the B1G is so pathetic this year, that I don't see that happening.

It’s easy. The trick is to go to the airport, and then to fly to somewhere with good pizza.

Ending a ~5 year bowl drought in the biggest city in a school’s home state sounds like a recipe *for* ticket sales.
