Bowls I'll be watching

Have to root for BC against Penn St -- even though I don't like either.
That was a really good game.BC really let that one get away. Two observations: (1) where was Tyler Rouse? and (2) I admire the job Addazio has done with BC, but can you imagine the uproar on this board if Syracuse has failed to recruit a decent kicker?

How could Addazio think his D could stop Hackenberg from scoring a TD or a FG with 2:45 left.

Are you suggesting that Addazio should have gone for it on 4th down instead of kicking he FG in that situation?

Yes. Go for the kill. If you don't make it , PSU is pinned at the 2 and you have 3 timeouts.

Eh, hindsight is 20/20. In our 1997 home loss to NC State where Dee Brown fumbled, everyone second guessed Coach P and said we should have just kicked the field goal.

Well , IMHO , Hackenberg is a young Brady or Manning. I was just surprised he didn't win it at the end of regulation.

boston kicker got a text from bill buckner post game. "WTMW"
(welcome to my world)

lol, oh god he isn't a young Manning...unless its Cooper Manning!

No? He was the no.1 rated QB out of HS in 2012. Dealt with a lot at PSU .
I know but comparing him to Manning and Brady two hall of fame QB's is a bit much. He is an average college QB at best

If I were an NFL team in need of a franchise QB , He would be my pick.

The issue there was giving the ball to a freshman who tried to score a TD by holding the ball over the goal line and getting it knocked away when all we needed was the field goal.

I quit on P that day.

sufandu, ESPN is making the economically rational decision. Having the game on Monday night will result in guaranteed higher ratings than having it on a Saturday, which means more ad revenue. Also, having it on a Saturday would mean having it compete with the NFL playoffs which would be ratings suicide.

Unless you have a job that requires you to be extraordinarily well-rested and alert (e.g. brain surgeon or pilot), just drink an extra cup of coffee the next day and stay up for it. You'll be alright. I mean how could you want to miss Bama/Oregon potentially.
Listen, I get why they're doing it. It doesn't mean I have to like it. Do you like everything every corporation does in the name of making a profit? Probably not. I'm sure there are certain decisions they make that inconvenience you and you complain about. Most people I know hate talking to customer service reps from India that are nearly impossible to communicate with due them lacking the nuances of our language and their strong accent. Does explaining that the company uses them for reasons of profit lessen that frustration for most? Absolutely not.

I expressed my frustration, that's it. I'm not sure why you or anyone else feels the need to talk me into watching a game that I've decided I won't watch or how sleep should or should not be important to me. Are there any other games you'd like to talk me into?

Exactly. How that ball doesn't go to Rob Konrad is unfathomable.

Eli? Hackenburg is a INT machine.

Why doesn't the NFL put the Super Bowl on Monday night if that's so much better than the day they are normally associated with?

Exactly. And it kicks off at a reasonable time so that the casual fan won't turn it off before it's over, if it's a decent game. Starting a football game at 8:30 will lose anyone that isn't a fan of the teams playing or a college football fanatic. I don't see how that helps ratings.

Nobody told ESPN/College football that their playoff had to extent into the NFL playoff season. The Championship game could've been on January 1st.

No.

We'd like to talk you out of complaining about a game that the whole country as wanted for about 100 years, one likely to be the highest rated ever.

One that you decided not watch.

What do you want?? a 'good for you!' Then a pat on the back and a gold star??

Please...

What are you talking about? I'm not complaining about the existence of the game. And I've never even remotely suggested I want a "pat on the back." It's funny how you assert I've done either. You know exactly what I've complained about, and I know I'm not the only one that thinks this way. If you like the day and time the game is being played at, that's fine. Enjoy the game.

My 2014 New Years Resolution was to not offend those in their 60s or 70s who post on here, who really need their sleep and have to get up for work or any other obligation...and I almost made it. I can basically see the gedamn finish line!!!

Frustrating.

I apologize.
