Brandon Reddish

True cover corners are one of the rarest commodities in football, both college and NFL.

If Reddish is a true cover corner, his size and weight are nearly irrelevant.

I'll call your bluff. Name some of them (they have to be from the last 25 years).

I'm not saying BR will be a liability, just that your statement is pretty bold. I don't recall any violent hitters under 179 lbs.

I'm pretty sure current NFL corners Nathan Vasher, Asante Samuels, Dre Bly and Winfield all played under 180 in college.

yep, ask Kevin Abrams.

and people were complaining that he should be a WR. I told some of you awhile back that he reminds me of a Will Allen. Just not as fast. We will see. I dont think its a done deal. In lyn I trust, Anderson has a lot of fight in him. Reddish is smooth and crafty. Gonna be a great battle throughout camp. Whigham and Morgan may be nickle back candidates.

People? Are you sure it wasn't just Cali...at times he can overwhelm a topic and one might think it is multiple people. :bang::p:rolling::bat:

Um, pretty sure Tyrann Mathieu has no damn problems laying people out, and he's tinier than Reddish

will allen played at under 190. tanard jackson under 190, mike holmes was 182 is sr yr..

At only 179 pounds, it is likely Brandon is going to be a liability playing against a team that runs the ball well. Young CBs are rarely good playing the run, especially undersized ones.

I think he is going to get a lot of playing time, but he might not play a lot against teams like UConn. Should be a near lock to play in passing situations.

that is why spruill moved to the outside

We'd all be huge if we had Hefner's money.

True but there aren't too many teams that are successfully running to the edges against us. Most teams that have run well against us have run right over us between the tackles. If our interior line is exceptional (which is very well could be) I like our LBs and #Shamarko to clean up anything that gets strung outside.

That may be because they haven't had to try running on the edges since they were able to run up the middle with ease.

But when teams haven't been able to run up the middle on us, they haven't been able to run on us at all. Shamarko is faster to the edge than opposing RB's

Pat Fisher, Steve Tasker (ST), Roger Werhli, Antonie Winfield, and Bob Sanders to name a few look at there college weight they grew into the NFL weight I can keep going if everyone would like me to

I agree... a drill is completely different than reading/reacting to a play and executing. I can see other teams pulling a guard and running right at him a few times and then going to a play action pass.
So you dont think our OLB will get there our or DE will play sweep really? If so we have a lot more to worry about then Brandon

I know I have already had two responses in this thread back to back but I want to rant. The fact people think the game of football is only about size is silly to me. If you are a hitter your fine period. We aren't talking about Rudy people we are talking about a young man who is a fluid athlete who will stick you. For every point you have about size I have ten players I can name who have excelled despite there height and weight at the NFL/College level. Brandon is a legit stud who needs to be on the field that's a fact. Truth is he has the hips, the bend, press ability, and he is the quickest out of his break which will end up making him our best corner by week 6. This is IMO and feel free to disagree is tape doesn't lie so just enjoy the show this young man is about to put on.

I didn't write that at all. First, our OLBs are going to have more game experience. Second, our OLBs aren't the last line of the defense. If a corner bites on a play action pass, there's a better chance of a touchdown than if a OLB or a DE does.
