It's gonna be interesting to see how this got screwed up or how he managed to get out of it.

He's an awesome player though, glad he'll be around in 2 months.

Pretty interesting that this could get brushed away because of a technicality.

I for one am happy. I thonk baseball will have enough negativity around it with the pending Clemens trial. Fans do not need the reigning MVP to miss a third of the season.

I do think this may have an effect on Braun's legacy, but that is another issue.

I think the whole situation surrounding the test is very suspicious. With the number of tests Braun has passed, that his requests to test the samples against his DNA to prove it wasn't his samples were denied (I am not sure if this has been confirmed, but it's a rumor floating around everywhere), and the fact that his sample sat on some guy's counter for three days before being mailed is all very weird. There's way too much money to be made, both legally and illegally, in professional sports to not be cautious about things like this.

/conspiracy theories

There are so many angles to this thing. The main angle that I have issue with has nothing to do with whether or not he did or did not do what the test claims he did. My issue is with what MLB did afterwards. It was bush league.

MLB and the players associated have agreed to this arbitration system for challenged tests. Braun challenged. Braun won an over turn in arbitration. Baseball should shut the up and move on. To come out and then say "we vehemently disagree with the result" is basically MLB saying "yeah we agree to arbitration, but only accept the decision it when it comes out in our favor".

what is the point of the arbitration system then if MLB can come out and then say " you braun, you still cheated!"

this would be tantamount to a jury declaring someone not guilty and then the judge sentencing the criminal anyway.

He cheated, he should have been suspended. Crazy arbitrator.
