[QUOTE="HoustonCuse, post: 23091, member: 87"] I mean the current incarnation of the Big East, as we have been playing in it for the past 3 - 5 years has been the most dominant league in the history of the sport. Look we all know that the number of championships doesn't define the full measure of a league's power. UConn finished 9th in the BE and won the championship. That alone doesn't say much about the BE or rival conferences. Yes the ACC has historically been strong, but the Big East went 6 and 7 deep with powerhouse programs. We've had 4 to 5 teams camped out in the top 10 for the past three years. The ACC is very down outside of Duke/UNC. There is a major drop-off below that. I think people see this ACC move like we somehow are going to be squaring off with UNC and Duke every night. We'll play 35 games plus or minus every year; two of them will be against those teams. And for that we trade MSG, the BET, the history and grit and power of the Big East, all the prime matchups, Big Monday, owning NYC for a weekend every year, etc etc. I just don't think its a good trade.
