Breaking Down Fab's 10 Blocks: An In Depth Look

Great job, that was a fun read. Fab really has limitless upside right now. Defensively its coming together for him and although his is still learning on the offesnsive end he does have a lot of already developed skills on offense (remember those work out vids a couple of years ago) that will emerge once he gets more confortable. I am not discounting that Fab could become an offensive force before this season is out.

After watching the game again, following the last TO of the first half a ref spoke to Melo as he headed back to the floor. I was wondering if he was being warned against excessive celebration following his multi-reject play just before that. When he blocked the shot at the buzzer, JB got him right off the floor and headed toward the locker room. Do you think he was close to a T?

Good writeup!

A few things about Fab's game have really impressed me this year: 1.) How quick he is able to elevate, often jumping more than once in a short timeframe 2.) Great body control when he jumps and ability to avoid a ton of contact and fouls this year 3.) How much space he is able to cover in the middle of the zone and finally 4.) His recovery skills when he is out of position.

Such a thing of beauty to watch such a graceful shotblocker. Love it!

Loved your article! Regarding block 2 at the 16 minute mark, Fab was nowhere near him on that shot. I'm not sure there was a block at all there but if there was, it was either Fair or Joseph. Fab had a block at the 14:34 mark. But whatever, I sure had fun rewinding the tape to watch!
