I'd still like to have bowl games outside the Top 16. It seems like TV (ESPN) will support them.

16 teams is too many, 8 is the sweet spot.
12+1+3=16 games for the CCG participant finalists.

The thought of returning to an 11-game regular season is cute, but unrealistic.

Giving all teams some practice time is interesting. One could contemplate 10 practices for player development for all schools and an additional 5 practices for each bowl or playoff game. The problem is that teams that participate in a CCG and reach the furthest in the playoff may have trouble fitting in the 10 developmental practices. Finals week kills 5+ practice opportunities.

I'm not hard over on 16...8 might be perfect. Just need to do the pros/cons. An 8 team playoff would help the non-playoff bowls.
