I think in the upper deck for sure people will just naturally spread out.
Seldom been anyone in the upperdeck for yrs.. Might be glad of this now.. Might move abit just to stay away from the idiots who tend to frequent up there for a game or 2 .

Win or Lose Albany game will be pretty sparse I would think.,

were still in a pandemic so its not a surprise
Ok. Noted.

Recruits pay attention to atmosphere.. it’s why Mike Norvell went all in on bringing a full slate of them to the ND game.

We can pretend it doesn’t matter, and if Dino has a great year, maybe it won’t… but for a program trying to find its footing, this isn’t ideal.

Rutgers may be a big game for us die hard but it's not for the casuals. Add that to the record last season and Covid and it's obviously going to be a struggle.

Instead of complaining about it go to the game and cheer your heart out.

Pitt has sold about 60% of its tickets for most games anyway.. Thats what they had vs Umass sat.
Thats what they had 2 yrs ago vs Ohio. 40-45K is what they sell
how many came might be like SU 5-10% buying but not showing up..

SU would need to hit 25-28K to be in that range. and we might have 20-25 in the seats.

Due November 15th! A baby boy to go with his big sister!
I think I'd much rather talk about your upcoming addition than covid protocols. Enjoy it, buddy. They grow up way too fast.

Honestly, people are using COVID as an excuse for anything at this point.

We are all hypocritical at this point.

Can we please not have another thread locked? One time I'd love a thread about the logistics of the current situation to not devolve and get locked. These important discussions about the whats whens and wheres about attending games and they are constantly getting locked because someone decides to get into ethical arguments.

Other concern...its local enough could a couple K Rutgirls fans drive and and, potentially, become loud?

agree.

do not lock any of it.

leave like its left on every other sports board in America.

the month of September is huge for this country sports attendance wise.

My angle was different...can we just be level headed and not let the discussion devolve. If it does, I'm fine with the mods stepping in . But i digress.

What were the fair rules this year? Did they require proof of vax and negative tests as well as masking outdoors? A 'yes' to any of the questions would have a huge negative impact on attendance imo.
I was there yesterday for Cheap Trick. No masking outdoors. We’re supposed to mask indoors but not many were. No vaccination check at gate , no proof of test. If anyone decided not to attend fair due to Covid protocols they made wrong choice.

No doubt it hurts with some recruits. However I would be positioning to recruits and their families that at Syracuse your safety is the most important thing to us. Show a picture of us masked up in a half filled dome vs packed houses with no protocols across the country to back it up. Advertise that those attending games have to be faxed or have a negative test. Sometimes being the only one has advantages too. We are not getting blue chippers so this could help with the types of players we do recruit.

That being said I can’t wait to be in the Dome on Saturday cheering the team on. Go ‘Cuse!
I don’t think that matters to recruits and their families as much as you think it is

Coming off 1-10, the win over Ohio while nice, our offense did not look dominant.

I imagine many fans are still in “show me” mode with the additional obstacles to attend. Win against Rutgers and you may see a larger walk up crowd for future games.

Anyone know what the drop to season tickets from 2019 to today between covid and the historically bad 2020 season?

Can't be worrying about things you can't control.

Would I rather have a full stadium for every game? Absolutely.

Is there still a great atmosphere with 20-30k at the Dome? Absolutely.
great atmosphere with 20-30K? Hmmm, only if we play well and win

have a few thousand rutgirls fans ever traveled for an away game, never mind one this year? I'd expect 200-500 Rutgers fans.

these fans are always in show me mode...they'll never come unless Cuse becomes Alabama. Just forget it at this point.

A 25k strong "DUUUUUUUUUUUUCE" chant will get the people going, though.

I'm fired up for some Dome Foam!
Yea but won’t people think we’re saying NUUUUNES

If the sold 40 for Umass then they had about 60% no shows.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

How was Cheap Trick?
I can remember seeing them at USA Sams in North Syracuse back in 86 or so.

1-10 2020 and covid protocol to attend makes a lot more sense to be “show me” than previous years at least.

The 2019 bump in season tickets sold tells me it can happen but 6 out of 7 straight losing seasons going back to Shafer and 4 out of 5 under Dino is what it is.

I’m a big fan 8th time for me , never disappoint.

I completely understand the covid protocols (not trying to be politicall blah blah) , but it’s insane to me that they can’t offer onsite rapid testing. Finding a place for me to get tested before the game is going to be a complete nightmare. That has a huge factor in attendance. Also the fact it’s a nightmare to bring your kids , the people that don’t wanna get covid won’t go anyways and now those that would go don’t feel like dealing with the hassle vs just watching from home
If you are vaccinated you don't need to test

The kid issue is legit...and frankly stupid. Let them come on in.
