It was called unnecessary roughness. Please help me here. Why?

It wasn't a slash. Maybe a cross-check... but I think the defender has to use his stick for a cross-check. That call was bewildering, for sure.

are we talkin' about the clean wrap around check that sent the nova stick flyin' or another play? i thought they whistled that one a slash. and talk about crazy calls how about that late high shot we backed up and they somehow decided it was a pass and nova ball. gotta let it go and move on!

Megill on his penalty for the hit on Croonquist: in the sport of lacrosse, you can't really hit any more.

That was an unfortunate call.

If the other player was hit while he still had the ball in his stick they wouldn't've called it. Five years ago it would've been penalty free as well.

be it a penalty or not somebody should really step into and crush that 5'5" nova frosh gremlin. time well spent.

The best hit ive ever seen he came from nowhere and jacked that kid up, no high hands, no square, no helmet to helmet #11 dropped his shoulder and rocked him, protect players yes but keep this in the game!

The problem over last couple of years in both football and lax is officials are overzealously enforcing against good clean hard-nosed play as an overreaction to the concussion concerns. Sadly the blowup check or blindside decleating block are being penalized. My feeling is if you don't want to get hit cleanly go play golf or tennis.
