I honestly don't know but I think too much is being made about him being a true freshman. NFL scouts are ready to take this kid as a #1 if he was coming out. Dabo is going to keep it simple for him, quick hits, he gets the ball out fast. We won't pressure him alot.

I honestly don't know but I think too much is being made about him being a true freshman. NFL scouts are ready to take this kid as a #1 if he was coming out. Dabo is going to keep it simple for him, quick hits, he gets the ball out fast. We won't pressure him alot.

I don’t think it’s being exaggerated yet. We have 3 very, very hard hitting d linemen and have the nations leader in picks. Another advantage, that hasnt been mentioned enough, is our special teams. It’s not unrealistic to say Lawrence should be expecting heavy pressure with mediocre field position for potentially a large part of the game.

Three of the fastest men to ever play quarterback, and Taj Boyd had just enough wiggle.

Our defenses have always tended to be better against pure pocket types (admittedly, i dont know how mobile Lawrence is).

Having watched Lawrence I buy hes a first round talent already.

It will be interesting if they coddle him a little if the action gets to him a little bit. He had some moments against A&M where he did not look great. That said he has had lots of moments where he looks great. STill a young kid in what will hopefully be a tight game with no safety net.

Vick was a redshirt freshman. And what VT's defense did to us that night is criminal in most states.

Ken Dorsey was a true freshman who I recall lit us up. Ironically, it was that same season as Vick.

If we can get to him without sacrificing coverage we have a shot. The kid is light, and that is the biggest factor for young QBs, not being able to adsorb contact. The arm talent is undeniable, but now with Bryant transferring Clemson really only has Lawrence. Apparently that is all they need though lol
