The kind of team takes the court that people will travel far to see. And far more nationally televised game And not just ESPN.SUball. It would be a perfect opportunity to begin promoting the Orangemen as America's team from coast to coast. It might be fun to invite a foreign team to visit the Dome for an exhibition game. Nationally televised of course.!!

This is exactly what I was thinking.

How hilarious was Mussberger the other night talking about Georgetown's wonderful team building good will tour to Asia last summer only to cap it off with "too bad it was marred by that unfortunate brawl with the Chinese Army team." My wife and I were rolling. I'm not even sure it was the Chinese Army team they were playing, but who cares. If any team in America was going to get into a fight with the Chinese Army team it would be Georgetown.

Is it wrong that I was siding with the communists?

Toronto Raptors?

It's a nice dream...but the Orange aren't even "New York's College Team"...let alone "America's Team.".
They are barely an afterthought in the NYC market.
The UConn game, for example, gets mentioned in local news largely because it involves UConn...which is a quasi-local team.

Plus...that's not the way college sports works.
It's very local...because there are so many teams.

IF there's an "America's Team" today...it's probably Duke.
And it seems practically everyone outside of Duke hates them.

However, it is true that the top teams generally get the most TV time.

What other channels will put us on that are "not just ESPN"? You realize the contract is with CBS/ESPN and no other network really has rights to play our games.

Also, if we get Noel not sure what the difference would be between us and Kentucky the last few years.
