I've been talking this kid up since the day he signed. How does he not get more run? West is awful. Kobena is a one trick pony. Other than Ashton, we have no threats. You can just see the speed and big play potential that Estime brings to the field. Let him play.

PS - time to think reallllllllly hard about who starts next week. Allen is just not what we had all hoped.

You called it. Good for you.

The screens to him and Broyld are the only things that work, once everyone else catches in on that, they'll shut down that too.

Chris Clark is showing some game as well. He needs to start as well based on today's production.

Estime can go deep too. He isnt just a screen guy. He will be playing a lot as the year goes on and the coaches realize West cant get open.

West was a byproduct of the production of our other receivers. He gets zero separation on his own. He's not a playmaker.

Remember when the board went Crazy went West fell into our laps? How about Funderburke? Thats exactly why i choose not too participate all that much in recruiting. A big circle jerk over kids who may or may not live up to the hype. I'd rather draw impressions from results on the field, then continue to be disappointed by unrealistic expectations.

Love Estime and Clark, even the backs. Ashton is a great athlete but his hands are awful, that is my only concern about him.

Did you watch the game? Estime looked like the real deal.

I wanst talking about Estime. I know the board had high praises for him, and yes, he does look like the real deal.

West can catch the ball past 10 yards. Broyld can't. Who should get the ball? I agree broyld makes plays if he catches the ball. That can be a big if. Clark has hands but probably needs to be in the slot. Brisley needs to be untied like tavon Austin. Keep Clark and brisley in the slot with west, broyld, funderburke, and kobena as the x and z.

I can't remember a time when we had so many rb's and wr's play in a game.

You know, Estime was very good, very dangerous and capable of YAC. Loved Clark. Seemed to be able to get good separation at the line of scrimmage, has the ability to make the first man miss, and the speed to get downfield afterwards.

Broyld doesn't quite have the hands yet, and he has to improve his route running and technique, but if this kid focuses on being a slot receiver, he could be a Randy Moss kind of player, with his raw athleticism and ability to make people miss. Throw in Funderburke and Kobena, and we look pretty decent now at WR.

That all came together in the second half of an otherwise disastrous game. But this development could have a big impact on the rest of our season. I think we know who are receivers are now, and they're better by far than they were in week 1.

West runs a pretty good route, and can catch over the middle, but is really lacking in speed to chase down the deep balls, and can't get the separation at the line that the other guys all demonstrated today. I agree.

Love this kid. I think the O needs to feature Smith, Broyld, Estime, Clark.

Real issue is Allen's INTs.

That's exactly right. Too many obviously bad decisions on throws. But that's corrected by watching some film. He improved greatly over last week, IMO. If Allen just didn't force those 5 or 6 bad passes that he did and just threw them away, then he is suddenly doing pretty well at QB.

He was terrible on the first 3 series or so, but after that, he grew into the game, I thought. And he did have us in a position to go for the win against Penn State with 2 minutes to go from roughly midfield.

Lets hope the coaches also know who our WR's are going forward... If Estime only plays in the second half, then its a waste of his talent.

George Morris is a terrible return guy as well. Estime should be handling all return duties.

My guess is that West's issues have a lot more with who is delivering the ball. Granted, he is not a burner guy (more possession type though he is pretty good rac), but he plays the true wide receiver position, and McDonald and Allen have shown little interest in letting plays develop. West is not going to be the quick out/quick slant player, which are currently the plays the O is most focused on (to its own detriment).

Estime's frame will never old up to the pounding of KOs. We need him on the field, not in the hospital.
