Buddy Boeheim: Thunder G League

Buddy got brought up to the Pistons today. Played the last 3:30 of the game and scored 6 points. Was 1/2 from 3 and 3/3 from the foul line.
That’s awesome. Of all the players we’ve had over the past several years, to have buddy freaking Boeheim be one of the very few getting NBA minutes is incredible. Dude is an inspiration.

All career highs. 22 mins, 13 pts, 3 rebs, 3 asts, 0 tos. Shot 4/8, 3/7 from 3, 2/2 FT. Only player of the 10 that played with a positive +/-.

There are a number of guys in the league who have made a ton of money doing what Buddy is trying to do like Hauser, Huerter, Korver, and Duncan Robinson, to name a few. Buddy might not be as athletic as those guys, but he certainly has shown some things this year in the G league. As importantly, nobody will outwork the kid, and he has a terrific attitude which are major factors in staying in the league at the end of a bench.

Korver is in a bit of a class of his own in that group. He played 17(!) seasons in the league, made an all-star game, and is 6th all-time in 3 pointers made in NBA history.

Buddy’s back in. For those in the NY area you can see the game on MSG.
