With Dior and Benny in the fold, rumors of more on the way, and a ton of top talent that we are currently targeting, one thing I think of sometimes is what would be my ideal scenario for how this all unfolds. In other words, if I could personally dictate how the recruiting and roster moves will unfold for the next 3 seasons, what would I root for? I would be interested in hearing your "best case scenarios" for our roster.

For me, it starts with at least Anselem being the kinda player we think he can be, which we have no clue about at present. Also want to see Griffin win his appeal and get to play the 2020 season (if there is one). After the season, Braswell as well as one of Edwards/Ajok transfers.

In 2021, I would love to see Dior reclassify (with the assumption that he'd then have to play 2 years because of the 19 year old age requirement for the NBA draft), and for us to sign Mac Etienne along with Benny. Marek and Bourama graduate, and you have a 2021 roster which consists of the following:

PG Dior
SG Buddy
SF Griffin
PF Guerrier
C Etienne
6 Girard
7 Benny
8 Anselem
9 Newton
10 Kadary
11 Edwards

After 2021 we see two more end of bench guys transfer alongside Buddy and Griffin's graduations. At that point, for 2022 we sign Chance Westry, Donovan Clingan, JJ Starling and Zion Cruz. Giving us a lineup consisting of:

PG Dior
SG Cruz
SF Benny
PF Guerrier
C Etienne
6 Girard
7 Westry
8 Anselem
9 Newton
10 Clingan (Probably redshirts)
11 Starling (Possibly redshirts)
12 Edwards (rides out his career and gets his degree)

That 2022 team would probably be the nations best, bar none.

Hahaha, fair enough fellas. To be fair, I did say DREAM scenario. Perhaps this is a bit TOO pie in the sky.

That’s one hell of a dream. Clingan and starling redshirts...wowzers
Let the man dream... because that’s almost exactly a scenario we all want. If that 2022 roster were to come to fruition, you had better believe that we would have some top 2023 kids knocking on our door as well...

Clingan and JJ would not come her to redshirt.

Edwards is going to be really good

I think the points about Clingan and Starling are probably fair, though with Starling if he REALLY wanted to stay home perhaps it could happen. Is there anything else on that roster that you all see as being utterly unrealistic? If Clingan and Starling don't come, maybe Kadary stays?

He has a way of seeming to understand where he needs to be, but he was physically overwhelmed often last year. If we land Mac (which seems like it's a REAL possibility), that's four centers between him, JBA, Edwards and Anselem. My guess is that one transfers and one ends up riding the pine. If Mac comes here he isn't riding the pine, so it's between Anselem, JBA and Edwards for 1 playing time slot. Of course, that's all just my opinion, who knows if it has any validity.

Most freshman centers are physically overmatched.

I don't see Roddy Gayle on that list...

I don’t think you ought to be doing this to yourself. I mean Mexico is way the hell down there and we’re stuck in here.

It's a dream, I turn 18 again, grow like 8 inches and am the best power forward since DC. Any of my teammates we recruit are role players, I'm the star!
