Wait, this was being paid for by taxpayer money? For some reason I thought this was paid for by sponsors.

I know you're a marine Jim, but is this what our tax money should be spent on?

I never understood the Branches of Service sponsoring sporting events or cars in NASCAR.

I guess there could be something said that it's a marketing tool to young men. Football and Nascar have a large fanbase in that demographic.

I still dont understand why we paid contractors to work the gates on base... It's not like there are 10,000 soldiers that could do it... They just switch to soldiers here about 3 months ago.
