SU must have evaluated their transfer center from UCLA as a starter. If so, Emmanuel as a back up big man would make sense. Athletic 4 star who had some high level interest out of high school and again in the portal. They also may be striking out on other high level centers that are more proven players.

Makes sense to me. It would be nice to have someone on the roster who will be around for a few years of development too.
It appears he has a high ceiling.

If Ballard‘s asking price is 1.5 million I think I would rather take Stephen for a fraction of that amount and give him an opportunity to develop; then sign another wing shooter like Darren Harris or John Camden
Ballard and Stephen are similar types of players. Both are defensive oriented centers who don’t have much shooting beyond 5 feet

Good, he is pretty raw, but a great developmental player. These are the guys that are great to fill out a roster.

Probably means they are looking at center by committee and a position that they are not looking to have to worry about get guys a bunch of touches on offense end. Don't hate that idea, only one ball and some offensive options who will need to get their shots up every game for us to be successful.

He was always the first off the bench. Palling with the rotation guys. Hard to miss because the only big that sat with walk-ons lol. They just had 3 Centers above him.
Need centers who can protect the rim, catch lobs for dunks, run the floor, and rebound .
2 or 3 like that makes for a good rotation.
One other thing, need to be able to anchor the press.
Yeah I think this kid and Kyle are going to be our centers next year. They are looking for an athletic defensive minded center. And I know they want a 3/4 combo forward that can shoot and stretch the defense a bit so Starling and George can get into the paint a bit easier off the dribble. I think Deng is a guy they are very interested in to come off the bench in that role
