Welcome Izoje!

I said at the end of the season, that the team needed to add at least 3 players 6-3 or taller and with this new addition, it looks like they were listening...LOL... the limited film on Izoje, she looks like she has he inside scoring presence that we desperately needed. I like the addition of the guard from Michigan/Texas. I just hope she is healed from that detached retina, if so, she will be a great addition. I love the make up of he roster now. I am excited about the upcoming season. let's go Orange!!!!

Agree and remember you stating that in a previous post. I’m still a little concerned with the pg position with next years team.

Sounds like true frosh Camdyn Nelson is going to be the starter at PG. She was Connecticut player of the year. Fast, terrific athlete, will probably be our best defender from day one. Also shot 39% from 3 last season. The transition to college is a big one and she might have growing pains but she is our most promising PG since Tiana.

Sounds like Uche will likely be the starting center, with the transfer from Auburn providing quality defense there as needed.

Burrows, Phelia and Potts will provide scoring from the wings.

Lots of players will battle it out at power forward. Some good athletes to work with. I think we need defense and rebounding here more then a big scorer.

There is more size and athletic ability here than last year. They could end up being very good. Though I expect some struggles early as the players get used to each other. Tough losing four starters.

A lot depends on Nelson and how good she can be early in her college career.

Tiana was amazing!!! I saw one of first games at GW in DC early in the November and I couldn't believe what a talent she was! Having said that, Camdyn Nelson has the pedigree to start at the point, and the good thing is there will be some depth to support her in Velez and Schmidt. The transfer from Auburn, looks to be the starting post and Uche's game looks more suited for the Power forward spot. We have enough size now to rotate the 4 and the 5's! I agree, defense is what is going to determine the success of our season. In the ACC, everybody can score...but can you stop teams from scoring? Kara lawson at Duke, has built her team based on tough defense, just like her mentor at Rocky Top! I like our roster now that we have added more size and a dynamic guard in Phelia... Let's go Orange...

IZOCHE UCHE COMMITED TO SYRACUSE WOMENS BASKETBALL FROM NIGERIA

UCHE IS NIGERIAN AND AVERY GOOD BASKETBALL PLAYER. SHE IS A 6' 3" CENTER WHO MOST RECENTLY PLAYED FOR CHANSON MAJIC IN JAPAN.

The 20 - year - old 6’3 Nigerian Forward has been one the brightest stars in @w_league_official and hasn’t even scratched the surface. In just 2 years pro, Uche has an impressive list of accomplishments: 2x all-star, Rookie of the year, 2nd in points per game, 2nd in rebounds per game, 1st in blocks per game and insane stat lines such as 35 points 16 rebounds and 3 blocks against WJBL champions Fujitsu Red WavesWith her 2026 @wnba draft eligibility approaching and countless opportunities ahead, she is truly just getting started

What’s most impressive about Uche is her infectious personality and work ethic, she genuinely loves getting better and craves the development!

Very Nice interview! I loved what she said about her Bigs!!!! Tallest team she has ever had. She has a player that just loves to rebound, she has a 6-5 back to the basket, strong player, she has a 6-4 freshman from Japan, who can dunk!! Coach Jack teaches and loves defense and the ability to control the paint and rebound is a key to a good defensive team. She has 15 players and depth now. I am so excited for this team. I think they are going to be fun to watch...and Oh, that transfer from Michigan/Texas, can really score. Let's go Orange!!!!

If she is 6’3 how tall is the player standing to her right. She looks at least 3 inches taller.
I just watched the highlights of Uche's game in Japan. Wowza, we now have a post up scoring threat. Her turn around jumper is smooth. She knows how to create space with her back to the basket...and I don't know anything about the quality of the defenders...but from what I saw on tape, she made one on one turn around jumpers extended out to the foul line and if you can make those shots by creating space, you can make them against any defender. She can score from the high post or low block. This will pull a defender out of the paint and open up the inside for drives to the basket. I love the off season additions to go with our returning players. Looks like the Orange are back...with tough defense leading the way!
