I know that people were initially focused on names they recognized, like Estrella.

I have a feeling that this guy is going to be every bit as good / impactful. Sneaky good signing.

Now, let's add Folefac and a PG to challenge for the starting role, and we've got a roster!

Everyone badly wanted Najai Hines given we have AO on staff. This is literally the closest you will find in the portal to the type of player and potential impact that landing Hines would provide. To me it’s a great add and hits the mark. You now have a true anchor on both ends who can ensure you are getting paint touches throughout the game. Whether it’s via tempo or having a big man to work through or a bunch of lottery picks the modern game demands you can get the ball around the hoop in multiple ways and have balance and spacing to pair with movement. While we’ve got a lot of good adds this is the key one so far that connects the rest. Onward to lead guard and Folefac and let’s roll.

Bingo, great job by the staff identifying this guy, the closest thing to the Hines type of center that was out there.

I'm a big fan of this addition and I'm glad that G-Mac and staff were able to move quickly after losing Freeman to Auburn. But this is certainly a take... we weren't focused on Estrella because he was a name we knew. He was one of the top centers in the portal, and was paid as such.

Hopefully Wilson makes a strong impact for us and can make the jump to P5 basketball smoothly. Especially since the other big men we currently have bring more questions than answers. If Wilson has the same impact that someone like Estrella will have next year, then G-Mac found a diamond in the rough. Give me Folefac and another PG and we can call it an offseason.

Guessing that having Arinze to coach him was a factor In his choice.
Gmac getting to what the coaching staff
Needed for decades.

Also nice transition with a 7-foot backup to come in for a few
Minutes and guard the rim…as inexperienced as he may be on an ACC level

Having a talented and deep coaching staff pays off.

Looks like a purpose built roster from top to bottom. Dual, Doty, White, are lock down defenders. Siby and Wilson are rim protectors with offensive potential. 3M is a pure shooter. Tobiason and hopefully Anthony are scorers. We could be a tough out on D alone. We will have positional size guys that rebound and attack. Offensive rebounding will be a key.

Gerry is going to make them defend and rebound. That will be our identity this season...I think. Fingers crossed that Gerry knows "good" when he sees it.
