This has a slight odor of Tucker. No inside info, and like most things in life, I’m likely wrong. But I can’t for the life of me figure out something more likely based on what’s been noted here. I hope I’m completely wrong, if only for TS’s sake. Feeling pretty down for something that doesn’t impact me personally. Hope everything works out best for the kid, truly.

I think it's time to take a deep breath on this. We're all disappointed. But about half a dozen posters that know the situation are saying there's nothing the staff can do. Time to wish the young man all the best. We still have a great class, pending the RB's.

Maybe a relative died, maybe it's academics, maybe he got a girl pregnant and wants to stay close, maybe his dog barked the fight song for another team. It doesn't matter. You know all you need to know.

Just like most of the CUSE fans, I am very bummed that Sampson decommitted and hoping things work out for us and Tyrone. Can't believe that 40 years ago in 1977, I decommitted from Virginia Tech and signed my NLI with Syracuse. Think I will have a few brews today and congratulate myself on that decision.

This makes me think it's either an academics issue or a character issue stemming from his visit.

So from the story in Orange football syracuse.Com, TS felt at the last minute he didn't take his time and check out other schools to see what they had to offer. So he had remorse and decommitted. Now he is going to enjoy his second semester in school and take his other OVs. It looks like Indiana and Cincinnati are involved. It was also said there is an allure to play a bit closer. It was mention that
pretty sure that SU will still be in consideration.". Oh well we have to wait and see

I'd prob recommend leaving that 1 alone. Not just because of recent events - but recent events isnt going to help your case at all. in any way shape or form. You lost this.

Not unpopular, but it is a selfish take. Here is the bottom line. He isn't coming. Why does the reason matter? You or anyone else knowing why, will change nothing. The kid is 17 or 18. He owes you or anyone other than the staff, no explanation. You have invested zero money into his recruitment. I get the curiosity, but let it go.

I was merely referencing an instance where we extended an offer...then more of his background, either something he did, or his academics tanking, came to light...and we backed off.

Kid was 100% committed here. This was not a situation where a bigger offer came in, he was wavering, etc. Nothing to do with the coaching staff, or Sampson not wanting to come here.

That's all I have to say on the subject. I'm sure more will come out over time.

Suffice it to say -- he gone.
