Class of 2015 C/PF Thomas Bryant (NY) Verballed to Indiana

Joseph's a freshman, he's guaranteed to improve. Patterson is already 22. I'd rather see Richardson get time over Ron next year.

Joseph's a freshman, he's guaranteed to improve. Patterson is already 22. I'd rather see RichardHow many freshmen pgs have we seen as Orange fans? Has any ONE of them been this deficient in just about every phase of the game even as a freshman? "Guaranteed to improve" Well he has to . He can't get much worse. OK we wait until 2015-16 to see the magic. Its been suggested by others that Howard may get some PT at the point. I'm not sure I agree but its been put out there and I only mention it. Paterson can help next season especially if he improves his offense closer to the basket. A consistent J within the arc. is potent. 3s are great but I'll take a high % 2 without hesitation.

Ronnie's been playing better the last couple games .. maybe figuring out that he's better off driving or cutting w/out the ball than jacking up long jumpers.

He had 9 (4-5) points in the Pitt game .. that's nothing to sneeze at given the defensive intensity (and risk of injury) in that game. Then he went 3-4 against ND. I like his athleticism ... he's got quick elevation and he's aggressive in transition.

I'm not sure this will get him PT over MR as Cooney's backup at the 2 (JB has said he plays b/c there's "no one else"). But I do like his effort recently.

About as ridiculous as similar comments made by other posters and other players. Did you call them out too?

In a world where we have Dayshawn Wright, Josh Wright, Mike Jones, Mark Konecny, Louie McCroskey, etc., there is no way that Kaleb Joseph is the biggest disappointment in SU basketball history. It's not even close. And similar comments by other posters are in no way as ridiculous as the one I quoted.

Next year, even without Bryant, I can legit see 10 deep like 11/12.

Not saying we will, but the potential is there.
Said this on the BBall board and got killed for it, but there's a ton of talent on this team, even without Bryant next year.

I'd take another year with G or picking up Murray over Bryant.

Not what we need if McCullough can stay.

McCullough is staying! Does anyone pay attention? ;)

I agree in general having Mike back or bringing in Murray would likely have a bigger impact than Bryant coming in but I'm greedy and want Mike back and Bryant.

I'll one up ya. I want G back, Bryant, and Murray!!

From what I have seen on here, we were basically out of it when Murray reclassified. But if for some reason we were able to get back into it with him and he cam to SU; wouldn't that hurt our chances for Battle in 2016?

That's a truism that lacks context.

Age is only relevant when a player has professional potential. Otherwise, they are better off spending as much time at the collegiate level as possible, maximizing opportunities to procure a free MS.
No, because age impact ability to play at next level, not that he is a next level player. Why would the kid leave. Can't have realistic expecations of pay to play. Can be a defensive, energy for 5-8 minutes a game, and can stay here for 2 more years and get his degree.

I like Patterson. Wouldn't have a problem if he sticks around.

But your point was that he is too old to transfer--no he isn't. Given that he probably won't play for pay, taking an extra year to get a higher degree would be a strategic decision that could help set him up professionally for life beyond basketball.

I'm a big Patterson fan. Liked him last year during the Canada games. My bold prediction last year was he would lead the team in assists per 40. Of course, he didn't play nearly
Enough last year, but I think it's obvious he's a solid passer off penetration. He's also done a great job recently at roaming the baseline. He had two dunks last game :)

He can't shoot.

Thank you so much for informing me of this
You're welcome. I just thought with the love fest for Ron it might be included that, well, he can't shoot. I saw him play in high school and came away very unimpressed. The reason, he can't shoot.

I can shoot ... and miss but unfortunatley my ncaa eligibility is done
