Cal @ WF

Good game actually despite the mistakes.

Cal will be tough. Wake road game late would have been tricky too but we don't play them annually anymore.

Cal has almost won 3 or maybe all 4 conference games before tonight. I expect us to beat them but won’t be easy

I watched the game tonight and was very impressed with Fernando Mendoza, QB. He's a Soph. from Fl. that started as a Fr. last year. I looked him up and he is listed as 6'5" 225 lb. His stats. as a Fr. were 153/243 passing for 63%. So far this year he is 178/260 for 68.5 %.

This might be a crazy idea, but if we can beat Cal. on the road and Mendoza thinks of transferring, we might have a change of getting the QB we will need next year for two more years of superior quarterbacking. He can also run for significant yardage.

Meh, such is late night wishing.

Let’s get it done!

they lost all the gams because of kicking and then they make three 50+ fgs in one game to win.

Wake QB was loose with some throwing decisions which helped

Cal has traveled all over.. It would be nice if it wore on them at some point and they played a complete clunker ahead of the Stan. game

Good news is that we can’t be the trivia answer of this school was Stanford and Cal’s first ACC win.

H/t to upper deck for first mentioning that possibility.

SU lost to Stanford.

At the time Stanford was at full strength. It was a decent team. They are a shell of their former selves as injuries piled up. We obviously played like crap that game too but either way it doesn’t define anything. Notre Dane lost to NIU at home.

He is good. Everybody we play except UConn has a “good“ QB. He wanted to go to Miami but no offer. If he transferred, they might want him too.

The transfer portal/ no sit out for a year rule insures that most teams will be able to get a “good” quarterback, who lost a QB battle, or was stuck behind a great QB elsewhere. A few years ago, teams like USC had 3 pro QBs on their roster. Even Cincinnati about 15 years ago had great success recruiting QBs, where they had 3rd and 4th string studs who couldn’t leave without sitting a year so they stayed

To your point, if today we had the opportunity to take Mendoza and be done looking for a QB for next year, I would lean toward taking him.
