One great piece of self indulgence by Calipari and one great piece of negativism towards him by Memphis fans.
Is he wrong?
Wrong about a winning streak being better than a championship? Is he wrong?

What about the winning streak? The winning streak.
What about the winning streak?
In the SEC.That they're probably the only team that could win 38 straight games. They don't play in a particularly difficult conference, they have talent. They don't even have to have the most talented team but with their schedule they'd be the only team I would bet on to have a streak that long.
this is secret code for refs here I am just ask me for alittle something. Winning is more important then enjoying the games for him.
A midmajor team went undefeated 2 maybe 3 years back in regular play and made the elite 8 sweet 16. This guy is so full of himself he forgot 2 years later. Extra likes if you can remember who.
If he that sure of himself I am sure he would love to have the toughest 8-9 and 5-6 seeds out there in his bracket.
The only winning streak that counts is the 6 game winning streak to close out the season. EVERY other team ends with a lose. The winning streak.

So you think the Patriots who went 18-1 with the 1 loss being the super bowl are happy with that season's outcome? mmkay.
Where they happy? No. Will they be remembered forever? Absolutely. It's more difficult to win 18 straight games in the NFL than it is to win the Superbowl.
For all of the wrong reasons.
Just like UK's squad last year. To quote Nelly, "two is not a winner and three nobody remembers..."
It doesn't have to be for any reason but these great regular season teams are going to be remembered. They're great accomplishments. Even down the road our 25-0 squad is going to be remembered because it is a remarkable feat.
No doubt about it that winning it all is the goal and the end all be all, but the Patriots, UK last season, they're going to be remembered for a long long long long time. Any time a football team is going undefeated late in the season, you'll hear about the Patriots team over and over until they lose. When you hear about undefeated college basketball teams, you'll hear about UK. And there's nothing wrong with it, it's a hell of an accomplishment.
Just to put it a different way, the Patriots we went 18-1 are remembered for failing [sorry, Pats fans]. Yes, they were the dominant team, but they failed.
Similar to how UK failed last season, despite being the prohibitive favorite. They didn't really "accomplish" anything. :noidea:
Isn't the accomplishment of doing what only teams you can count on one hand an accomplishment in itself?
