Or blue pants with orange and white stripes?

How hard is it to wear unis that look good on TV?

I can't tell you how many times I've surfed my way onto a Clemson or Illinois game and briefly thought it was Syracuse.

Even now I'm rewatching the MD game and the blue pants just throw me off.

If you're gonna do blue pants do a blue helmet, and blue shoes.

Yesterday's combo looks OK up close, but ... odd from a distance.

I'm making this post but don't care all that much. Find a good combo and stick with it.

I was fine w the combo. Thought it looked ok on tv. However, I think the orange pants is a better look. Further, take the damn block S off the helmet, then were good to go.

I thought it looked fine, especially compared to what Maryland was wearing. Very few teams (especially those sponsored by Nike) are only going to wear one combo. It's all about differentiation and $$$.

White Pants/White Jerseys/Orange helmets. Break that out vs FSU

Didn't we wear that last time we played down there?

MD's uniforms looked better. They are loud, but they are coordinated. It's not just a card deck gone awry. Being derived from MD's state flag, they are relevant as well. It's a bold statement executed well.

Ours are simply orange, blue, and white. The combos seemingly change every week. FSU's seen maybe one, one-time, uni change since the photo above. We've seen 6+

I hated the spraypaint look orange to blue faded helmets but I thought out jerseys yesterday looked good.

From the subject line I thought you meant only Orange pants and nothing else. We'll probably get there eventually.

Yes, after all it is quite ridiculous to have your logo on your helmet. Just ask almost every other team on the planet. ;)

If you wear a different combination every week, they cease to become 'uniforms'. Or 'Alternates'.

The idea behind the block S, a consistent shade of Orange, 'New York's College Team', etc. is to establish a consistent brand. We then proceed to undermine it with the crap we've seen all season.

Yesterday's combo was horrible. But since we won, I bet we'll see it at FSU.

Sorry - they were the most god-awful things (except for the other worse combos that MD has rolled out over the years).

worst unis in college football...handsdown

Their uniforms look like someone threw up on one side and Pi$$ed on the other. One quick question, are you color blind?

Individually, stuff looks good. The pants, the helmet, the jerseys, the shoes, the socks, all look good individually. However, when you combine them in the wrong way, IMO, they look awkward. Orange helmet, white shirt, blue pants. It's layers on a birthday cake. Orange pants would balance out an Orange helmet. A blue helmet would balance out blue pants. You either go all in on your colors ala penn state, or you seek some balance.

IMO

Our uniforms looked great yesterday. The best combo I have seen so far. The large group of people that I watched the game with yesterday all felt the same way. It seems the only people who really dislike them (or care) seem to be on this board. There was absolutely nothing wrong with them

I actually liked the uniforms yesterday. Although it may have just been in contrast to the monstrosity across the field.

I don't understand how they almost entirely remove blue from basketball uniform and the court, but then have the football team wear more blue than orange.

i didnt say ridiculous. i just think the orange helmets from the mcnabb days were awesome.

To each his own. I get that others like the all-blues. I get (and agree) those who want more orange in the unis. I want the kids to be happy. Their vote. That being said, I don't mind the current helmets. The old ones are great too.

I like orange pants (with either no racing stripe, a blue double stripe, or a blue double stripe with white in the middle)
blue home jerseys with orange letters and orange racing stripes on the shoulders (having white shadows in the numbers is an option, too) - alternatively, a blue shirt with shite numbers are orange trim is also acceptable
I like orange helmets (I'm ok with a block "S," but I would rather either all orange or with the numbers in blue)
I like white away jerseys that are essentially mirrors of the home jersey's, only with white instead of blue
I would rather orange pants, but I am OK with white pants for our away jerseys
I still want an orange helmet, but am OK with either the block "S" or numbers. If there are numbers, I'm OK with either blue or white
Socks should be blue, orange, or white and shoes are best if they're black or white.

This all blue silliness, blue pants, and/or blue helmets needs to go.

If we want to make them fancy, we should go back to the white jersey's and include an outline of NYC's skyline and/or SU buildings in very light grey, so it only becomes apparent when the players sweat. That's neat because it would look fairly conservative/traditional, but it would still be intricate and special. I like the idea of making things show up when players sweat because it would signify that you have to earn the right to be NY's college team, or represent the Orange, and I like that.

NYC Skyline?

Already been claimed by a team that's actually from NYC.
