Can we just wear orange pants?!?

Our uniforms looked great yesterday. The best combo I have seen so far. The large group of people that I watched the game with yesterday all felt the same way. It seems the only people who really dislike them (or care) seem to be on this board. There was absolutely nothing wrong with them

Agreed. Don't really care too much anyway, lots of drama queens here. I thought my wife was bad with coordinating outfits.

If we want to make them fancy, we should go back to the white jersey's and include an outline of NYC's skyline and/or SU buildings in very light grey, so it only becomes apparent when the players sweat. That's neat because it would look fairly conservative/traditional, but it would still be intricate and special. I like the idea of making things show up when players sweat because it would signify that you have to earn the right to be NY's college team, or represent the Orange, and I like that.

It would also give Joe Yaccano's company some good business.

Hardly just this board. Group I watch with and folks in my section at home games almost all ask the same question. "When are we going to be the Syracuse Orange(men) again"?

It's not that the uniforms this year are "ugly", but they don't say Syracuse at all. Are people ashamed of being the Syracuse Orange(men)? Sure sounds like it.

actually yes i do. i am sure many others here who read recruiting services can say that all of the recruits comments about the uniforms have been very positive. they also like to tweet during games saying the same thing

Well, saying they like them doesn't mean anything if they aren't given options. I'll bet that just like the current players, if they were given the option to wear the McNabb one they'd say they like them. In fact if it were possible I would bet 90% of future recruits would take the McNabb ones over yesterday or the all blue.

Just a strange conjecture - could other ACC teams have objected to another "Orange" team when we joined (Virginia, Clemson, Miami etc) and stipulated that we change our look and de-emphasize the orange? Personally it seems strange we'd agree to it since we're branded as the "Orange" and a huge part of our identity for decades but it is weird the timing of this blue uniform look. As someone mentioned in a post above when we eliminated blue in our basketball uniforms, the admins reminded us that blue isn't really a school color but only used as a complimentary one so duct tape silver was just as acceptable. What's changed the thinking and particularly the timing of it? Remember the attempt in the 80's wearing the blue basketball uniforms against Kentucky? That was quickly nixed, I thought - maybe not?

You've talked to all our recruits? I haven't and doubt you have. Btw, I doubt a single recruit was asked if they liked yesterday's uni's better than the McNabb one. I bet no recruit has ever been asked.

We have no identity and certainly aren't the Orange(men) anymore.

I love our traditional uniforms (orange helmet, blue & white jerseys, orange pants); I recognize college teams are occasionally moving to alternates. I just wish we could up the orange content from time to time. Hence my mention of the orange helmet, orange jersey & blue pants combo...

I wonder what people were saying around the time we closed Archie / opened Dome? Orange helmets, blue jerseys, white pants. All the time. Did joe Morris ever wear orange pants? Was anyone complaining then?

It a wonder we survived the bill Hurley white helmet era.

Loved yesterday's combo, especially since it represented all of our colors.

Now, that is a good away uni, and the point of my OP. Orange pants!

Whether there is a block s or a ## on the helmet or not doesn't matter too much. To me.

That some recruit would have been given the option to compare yesterday's unis to McNabb's unis makes no sense. I also don't understand how they would have a strong positive opinion about yesterday's plain blue pants. They are lululemons, if anything.

Sounds like a good idea,but instead of the NYC skyline,how about just the shape of NY state?I think that would look good.

First of all the maryland uniforms are beyond terrible. The fan based should be embarrassed at that look.

Secondly i dont care what we wear but we should always wear white jerseys at home. Always
