Can we pretend tonight's Bowl game is our Bowl game?

He IS awful at that...
Also that was just a terrible coaching decision to go on 4th and 9 unless they only have a blind field goal kicker.
I try to never criticize a decision to go for it on 4th, but if you're going for it there I think you've got to lob the ball in to the end zone.

You guys are reading too much into this bowl game. We may not be as good on offense or as bad on defense as BG looks. We have different players and who knows what tweaks Dino will make based in our current circumstances. All I know is BG won 10 games this year and Dino has a history of success. Lets let the man put the team together and see how he does before we get uptight.

Not relating this to Syracuse. Just saying I don't want to pretend this is our bowl game anymore. Everything is different from us. Dino is not here. Ward will not be our head coach, but our d- coach. I don't think anyone is getting uptight here. We are just having a little fun with our step brother team!! I don't think anyone felt this is a window into next year at all!!!

look at the size and experience of their defense. Its pretty bad. A converted QB at middle linebacker. Other LB is 196 pounds. Walk on CB starting. Undersize DT's , DE's # 37 and 33 are not very good. Dont get me wrong it wasnt a great effort but I think the weather elements along with the TO's helped GS, also having a QB that runs a 4.3 forty lol

We've transferred the curse from Syracuse to Bowling Green.

I know I said that our coaching sharing was a good thing, but possibly this is showing it was not. Most of the BG coaches were doing 2 jobs at the same time, and probably did not prepare as well for this game because of it. Other coaches were only preparing for their games. G. Southern's assistant coaches are still only employed by G. Southern. If they follow the head coach, they will announce it after this bowl game. I guess in the long run , as nice as it sounds, it may not have been the best idea to do things the BG way.

Im okay with them losing. Coaches will have a bitter taste in their mouth this off season and now they are gonna work their asses off to prove a point. Our benefit

Tulane went 3-9 (1-7 in AAC). Syracuse went 4-8 (2-6 in ACC) under our 5th string QB. Dino has more to work with than Fritz, but I guarantee you Fritz will make Tulane a better team than Syracuse next year and the year after. Dino will be good but we could have had better.

Yup, I hope our offense clicks fast next year because the D is going to be an issue

Since the head coach didn't coach tonight, and none of their players will be on our roster, in truth there probably isn't much to glean from tonight's game.

Just stop the nonsense.

I don't know about that. The horrid fumbles and dropped passes had nothing to do with the coaching staff. Roger Lewis alone dropped two long TD passes.

BG was up by 2 TD's at one point and was leading at halftime. This one is 100% on the players.

What makes you say that?

I didn't exactly mean that the performance was on the coaching staff, but maybe the fact that the coaching staff being at 2 schools at once may have had an affect on the players. At first I thought it would benefit them to have a large part of the coaching staff there for the bowl game. But it might have worked the opposite in that it turned out to be a little confusing or disheartening to them. This was done in a most unusual manner. I agree all of those dropped passes, turnovers, etc is on the players. They just may have felt out of sorts with the whole coaching situation.

Very aggressive.

I'm not sure why we care who won or lost. All I cared about was watching the offense and seeing how much different it was than anything we've seen at Syracuse. My God, how many deep balls did they throw? had to hover around 33%.

Are you rooting for that?

That's two thumbs down, Johnny Boy.
If I had more thumbs, they'd be down too.

Dino will do well in the Dome. Fritz's offense would empty the Dome even further.
Time to light it up...

Go Orange!

Turnovers and fatigue hurt BG. In the first half when their O was in synch I loved the pace they played with. I'm not as big a fan of all the deep passes. Those seem like "let's throw it up and see if our athlete can make a play against their DB". In our league we don't win many of those battles.
