than I did 3 hours ago. I honestly didn't think we could possibly look this inferior. Richardson and Lydon became freshmen again. Disgusting defensive effort in 2nd half gave a lame duck team an all time highlight reel. They should be totally embarrassed.

Tough environment against a well coached team with talent. I expected more from both of them too, but they're still just freshman (albeit late season freshman), so it's not entirely unexpected. I was a lot more disappointed with Roberson and Gbinije tonight. G didn't get the job done at all and we badly needed Roberson to be a monster on the boards for us tonight, which he wasn't.

edit: On second look, G's stats aren't bad, but he looked really bad.

Defense didn't look all that good the last 10 mins of the first half either. L'ville didn't shoot well in that stretch or it would have been a close to a 10-point gap at the half.

This is how I envisioned a nightmare scenario against Oklahoma in a second round NCAA Tournament game going. Never thought Louisville could do that to us.

There was one long stretch from the ~10 min mark of first half that ul outscored SU 62-31. Just a bad game. Need to turn it around against pitt. Go Cuse!

That'll teach you to get seduced by a long stretch of solid, winning basketball from a team most people had written off in early January.

Yeah, that was a serious reversion to sophomore/junior Gbinije. Very little hoops awareness from him tonight.

I dont feel any different. They were due for a clunker. This is a weird team and a weird season. They can lose in the 1st round or make the final 4. You can say that about alot of teams this year (except louisville haha)

College basketball is getting to be like hockey, regular season doesnt mean much, just make the dance and anything can happen.

Step back, folks.

let's pump the brakes here a bit, for one the "lame duck" thing is way overrated. basketball players are some of the most competitive people on the planet, winning the moment is as or more important to basketball players than other team oriented goals. we lost to a more talented team on the road, it was ugly, but that's it.

JB said it best, as usual in his presser: the worst rebounding effort theyve had in ~10 games, the 2 key freshmen struggled for the first time in awhile and too many missed layups. He seemed to think it was an anomaly and he didnt seem too worried to me!? Go Cuse!!

I didn't understand that "lame duck" sentiment before the game either. I thought it was more likely for L'vlle to play as if this is there postseason... combine that with our clunker of a game and you get the result we saw

well were we a lame duck when we won against notre dame on the road last year? these players have pride, and it has more to do with just pride for the school, these players didn't get to where the are because the only play for Syracuse or Louisville, in the long run, they play for themselves. which is totally fine.

G's stats are not bad but how in the world can a 5th year seniormiss 3 bunnies??

Not to pile on G, because there is plenty of blame to go around, but I wish he would stop trying to dunk unless it's a breakaway. He misses almost all of his one-handed attempts. With about 2:00 to go in the first half, he made a nice move to get by his man and got fouled lightly on his way up. Instead of taking the easy "and-one" layup, he tries to throw it down, only to miss it again. He then proceeded to miss both FTs. Just lay it in, is that too much to ask? I actually think his hands are too small to consistently throw it down one-handed because he seems to always cup the ball.

The '09-'10 Cuse team, which was my personal favorite since '03, got massacred at Louisville. Very very tough place to win. We didn't play well. It happens. It doesn't really change my opinion of the team. I try not to get too high or too low about this group.

Went into this year thinking with the way we rely on 3's, we'd beat some teams that we shouldn't beat and we'd get beaten/blown out by some teams that we shouldn't lose that way to. This was the latter.

I think Lydon was the big difference in the game. Seems lately like the team goes how he goes. He was lost out there last night on both sides of the ball.

This is ridiculous. It is Louisville. Honestly, what did you think was going to happen. You could put in a tape of our 2013 game in the BET against them and it would be indistinguishable from last night.

I hate to break the bad news to you, but we also have about a 2% chance of beating Pitt on Saturday. It is just the way of things.

We would win.

Disagree. After last night's display, I look for a team dialed in and ready to take it to Pitt. I understand that Pitt has gotten the best of us over recent years. However, let's try to remain on planet earth - a 2% chance? Come on.

Dude. We don't beat Pitt. I don't care if we have our best team ever and they have their worst, we'd still need a miracle to win. It is just how it works. At least since Howland got there. I am not making any comment on the quality of our team, we just don't beat them. If it happens, consider it a complete bonus from the heavensm but don't expect it.
