Dude. We don't beat Pitt. I don't care if we have our best team ever and they have their worst, we'd still need a miracle to win. It is just how it works. At least since Howland got there. I am not making any comment on the quality of our team, we just don't beat them. If it happens, consider it a complete bonus from the heavensm but don't expect it.

I'm not saying this is a final four team or anything, but there's really no shame in getting blown out @ Louisville.
I FULLY understand the struggles that we have against Pitt but to say "We don't beat Pitt" is borderline insane. After we win on Saturday, we will be 5-4 against them over the last five years. That my friend, is a WINNING record. They have definitely gotten the best of us over a longer period of time, but still, facts are facts - we CAN and DO beat Pitt.

Don't take these post game quotes literally. If they hadn't come out ready to play, how were they able to build a 12-point lead?I'm not disagreeing, but where I do have somewhat of an issue in getting blown out is reading quotes like this below.
"I think it was just kinda on us," SU forward Tyler Lydon said. "We didn't come out with the right kind of intensity. Just one of those games."
"We didn't come out ready to play," SU guard Trever Cooney said. "That's why that happened."
I get guys having an off night as they did last night (offensively) and, how JB eluded that we just don't have that kind of room for error with one guy off, not to mention two or more. But how do you not come out ready to play or lack of intensity, etc., especially as a competitor, let alone a competitor at this high level? That's hard for me to digest, especially when so much is riding on each and every game relative to the NCAA tourney.
In my view, there's really never a legitimate excuse for not giving full effort on D. Watching that 2nd half debacle (again, I'm stressing effort, mental toughness, mindset, etc. when it comes to D) is really inexcusable, allowing for all those Top 10 SportsCenter moments at our expense. The boys should be embarrassed. Hopefully, after watching film they'll come together and say we won't ever lack that effort again, not only for their own self respect & pride, but never forgetting the name across the front of their jersey's either.

Yes, he's had games like that before. He will figure it out in time. When Coleman sat down early with his second of two questionable fouls, the dynamic seemed to change.Yep, agree with that. Though Lydon did look off from the get-go. He guided that early open baseline jumper and generally looked harried from that point on.
I would contend that SU's defense had something to do with Louisville's slow start.Well, they built that lead because Louisville had 5 turnover's in the first few minutes of the game, combined with them not being able to hit the broadside of a barn. I think that's a bit different than coming out at the half of a one point game and then claiming to lay down due to "lack of intensity" or "not being ready to play."
than I did 3 hours ago. I honestly didn't think we could possibly look this inferior. Richardson and Lydon became freshmen again. Disgusting defensive effort in 2nd half gave a lame duck team an all time highlight reel. They should be totally embarrassed.

That'll teach you to get seduced by a long stretch of solid, winning basketball from a team most people had written off in early January.
AgreedWe are just not good against pressure teams. This game was a lot like the Miami game IMO. It seems to throw the whole team off.

HA HA HA! I change my avatar every year. Last year it was a duck. This year it's Nemo because I had a fantastic diving experience in Indonesia. I resemble neither, although I like to think I have something in common with Nemo's perky expression.bballeadle... he actually sort of looks like me or I look like him. With just the exception of the giant forehead, stache and chin hair, crazy right eye, giant sized ears and fantastic green smoke. Other than that, I feel like I'm looking in the mirror.
What about you, my lady?

The fact remains that we have almost no shot at beating them. We never do. I have no idea why. I don't watch our games against them anymore. Although I did watch the Tyler Ennis game live and what an amazing ride that was. But it was a fluke.
