Can't wait to see the delusional list of candidates

tom they have a delusional fan base, who buys everything they are fed, attendance is better than ours, and despite the publicity about excessive spending, they still spend and spend. i believe the gov. has had a hands off approach. the conference issue in the negative, but again the fan base and players believe everything they are told. hope we can flip one or two as their class is VERY GOOD.
RU's average paid attendance in 2011 was less than 26K. 41% of the people attending games used free tickets. They have no fanbase...this is why they lose 5 million on football each year, 11 million if you count the debt on the disastrous stadium expansion.

A smoke and mirrors scenario.

wrong-they have a rabid national even international fanbase

they have money to burn ,they say the budget for a new head coach will reach 5 figures

they have so much money to burn those 26 thousand that did pay got it back on state income tax returns under charity donations

the girls will be stronger than ever because of the new big east- they will continue to win big east championships at the same torrid pace they do now-there will not be a drop off

they are also a prime target for the pac12 expansion ,who wouldnt want to add a powerhouse like them

thanks tom, rrbees said it best as well smoke and mirrors ---but the recruits buy it---the facilities were built and they still spend. look at the star ledger rutgers sport page several articles the one of particular interest is schiano leaves behind incentives. despite what the we think about the politicos ru has been untouched.but as you point out i stand corrected

My money is on Cristobol. I hope im wrong but he maintains the inroads they have in florida and Rutgers would be a step up for him. Not sure on Addazzio he might take a swing.

Why would Addazzio leave a MAC school for a school that may be lucky to get into the MAC in a couple of years ?

Temple is on the list of fill in schools for Big East membership as current members bolt in the future.

temple may be the more attractive program-and the money that jersey will pay wont be shady like-

i have a feeling shady saw the writing on the wall regarding the $$$ that the girls have to run the program and the new big least not being attractive to future recruits

The name that made the most sense to me out of all these was Tom Bradley. Dude needs a job. Plenty of ties to the region recruiting wise. Could probably bring much of Joe pa's former staff with him to NJ State. Christobal or Addazio may be the most likely. I don't put any weight on the "wrong to leave recruits so close to signing day stuff. If a coach takes an advancement position (which RU would be) that stuff gets forgotten. I doubt any coach ever considers into any decision they make "what will the media say"? Very overblown.
