To me this doesn't sound like somebody super close to being ready for Div1 college basketball. This sounds like he's about to walk, and in a week or two he may be able to run and plant his foot, a week or so after that resume practice, and THEN start thinking about games.

As somebody who was in the same exact boot (assuming the same injury as Frank), I was out of the boot one month post-injury, then about a month of physical therapy sessions. I was roughly 70% by the time I was originally out of the boot, and nearly 100% in my second week of PT.

Point being, he's probably close to being able to play IMO, but they're slowly working him in so his foot can gain strength before letting him go 5 v 5.
