We should keep doing that. It got them in their sets with 20 seconds to go every possession.

not sure you watched closely enough, he played soft the entire first half and got smoked and then started guarding 94 and completely turned things around
Uhh ok. We’ll see next game vs not Youngstown St
I agree. I think Red might've spent way too much time coaching the defense to run the Lemoyne, Colgate, and Youngstown shooters off the 3 point line and the end result was these guys just attacking the rim. The end result was that neither was good but the easy layups were terrible. I assume he just put too much faith in our Guards to be able to stay in front. That's on coach and the team.My beef is he constantly goes under screens. Once he gets backed down into the lane it will always be hard for him. Teammates have to recognize and help which is our number one issue with this team. It’s hard to fathom they are that bad at helping. They’re not in hs anymore. They’ve been playing for years. They should have some kind of clue you need to slide and help your teammates. I wonder how Youngstown State’s fans felt about their inability to stop JJ from getting to the rim. They had no help either. The one good thing is we’re not constantly getting charges called in the college game. It has helped players attacking the rim.
With only an occasional exception, EVERY player on the team goes under ball screens. That is mind numbingly poor defense at any level. Fighting over screens is a basic fundamental concept to any M2M defense, let alone when you are playing a plain vanilla man.My beef is he constantly goes under screens. I hope people pay attention to this as you are one of my favorite posters and should have no reputation of being a "negative" poster. You just know what you are seeing and are calling it for how bad it is.With only an occasional exception, EVERY player on the team goes under ball screens. There is no way to sugarcoat that. It will be instantly obvious to any team that scouts us. Playing screens that way is compounded by the absence of on ball pressure and the tendency to trail cutters (sometimes with our back to the ball). Playing that way against even low level teams will multiply the number of help rotations necessary. As we've seen repeatedly, the help rotations are..."amazing."
