Carmelo Anthony

Facing the Cavs on the second night of a back-to-back with the Cavs coming off three straight losses is not a good thing for the Knicks. I expect this one to not work out well for the Knicks tonight.

Well said.

Now if you had predicted LeBron was going to play the bottle flip game on the fourth quarter as well, you'd be the GPOAT. Greatest poster of...

LeBron fails water bottle flip challenge during game

By the way, I'm exceptional at flipping water bottles.

Kyrie's a man of many talents.

Yeah, but can he cap it? It's what you think it is, landing it on the cap. Yes, I can. Not frequently, but I can.

My son is 13 and plays multiple sports - lacrosse, basketball, and soccer. He and his teammates play this nonsense constantly. So of course I have to jump in there because that's the kind of annoying dad I am. First time I ever tried I landed it normally (like Kyrie did above). And the next time. And then my son took the bottle away and told me to leave him and his friends alone.

Phil's trying to stay relevant. He thinks the Knicks are still running his beloved triangle. Not so much, if he's been watching. And taking an unnecessary shot at LeBron out of the blue in an interview that had nothing to do with LeBron was flat-out stoopid. He should shut the .

Phil Jackson criticizing LeBron, Melo is not helping Knicks

I don't think Phill is worried about staying relevant. He wasn't going out of his way to take a shot at LeBron, if it was even a shot at all. And he doesn't think they're still running the Triangle; he came out and said he doesn't care what they run as long as it starts working.

I posted my thoughts on the posse thing before. If you're looking just at the context of what he said in this particular circumstance, it seems innocent enough. But if you look at in the context of how Phil has used the term "posse" in the past, it was pretty clear that he was being derogatory towards LeBron and his associates, who despite what you say, have developed into very successful business partners.

I would never say that this makes Phil racist, but I can understand why Maverick Carter took offense to it. Racist or not it was absolutely an attempt to diminish their accomplishments and it was completely unfair and unnecessary.

The implication all along though is that Phil wouldn't have said the same thing about a white player. LeBron and others made it sound as though LeBron's business partners' (mostly friends riding his coattails) skin color had a lot to do with what Phil said. I don't buy that for a second. Did Phil intend to diminish the legitimacy of LeBron's friends as business men? Maybe/probably, but so what? LeBron took it farther than it should have gone, but that's LeBron's M.O.

I still don't think the Knicks finish .500. 35 wins is more likely than 45 wins.

But of course I don't like the Knicks, and I know fans have overrated their team each of the prior 3 seasons.

And that's why it became a much bigger story.

If people...athlete, politician, actor, anyone...can't take criticism then they shouldn't live or work in New York.
Doesn't matter whether the criticism is fair.
It's coming.
You've got to deal with it or move on.
Very little tolerance for crybabies.

To be fair, it's not the first time Phil has talked about LeBron's friends negatively while calling hem his "posse", and he simply hasn't done the same with white players.

Again, I don't think he's racist, but I do understand why Lebron and his friends were upset and I can see why they'd read into it that way.

It's going to take a while, and full health, to even compete against the Cavs.

A) They're the best or second best team in the league.

B) They've been together for years now.

C) They never have an off game against the Knicks for some reason. (How did I know they'd go NBA Jam "He's on Fire" from three against us)

I'm just hoping to be competitive and have realistic shots at beating anyone not named Cleveland, Golden State or San Antonio.

I've said this to a buddy, it's a long season in the NBA and there will be so called "schedule losses" where you're playing your 5th game in 7 nights or whatever, but teams will ALWAYS be up to play in MSG. So they're never going to be the game that a team looks past. Lebron will always be up to have a great game at the garden.

bullshit scheduling too.

that was a back to backer when the Knicks were away the night before and the 4th game in 6 days...and they got the World Champions on a day of rest on National TV in the Garden...ready to showcase.

I called that loss and blowout in August.

just wish Phil would shut the .

Yeah I mean they're probably losing that game anyway, but the schedule did them no favors.

With the Knicks seemingly relevant once again, Phil's massive ego just needs a little love and attention.

I didn't follow the bulls or lakers enough to know if this public tweaking is part of the Phil/Michael...Phil/Kobe lexicon.

to paraphrase Yogi...half NYC hates Melo, half NYC loves him and the other half just wants to see a public feud.

he'll get his press for sure...

This is what Phil does. Part of the package.
