The Dome will be unavailable and in my mind is almost as an important draw as Boeheim. Neither may be available soon. This has to weigh on the minds of future recruits near term. Good chance upon completion Boeheim may be gone. Wonder how major facility changes have affected other schools. Seems to be a very precarious situation. Go Orange!

Damn work has gotten in the way of my viewing this board. Has there been something new that has come out saying that the renovations will inhibit the basketball or football season? I thought initial reports were that the renovations would effect neither sport?

Nothing has changed.

There are no plans, there is no timetable.

You sound like we are going to be playing in Thorndon Park for the next decade.

Shouldn't worry about anything. Dome will be renovated... Eventually... And we still probably will play in the dome while it happens.

I heard the powers that be think it is very unlikely to build a roof on top of the roof. If that is the case, we will not be playing during renos.

Lets get the Garden while the Dome is renovated. It's been our second home court for years. Let's make it official for a season. St. John's can just go to Alumni Hall permanently. Nobody cares about them. With 2017 or whenever this starts technology, the players don't need to be physically present at every class to get things accomplished.

This Dome renovation needs to happen like now. Moving on from the Boeheim era we're going need that extra something. Freaking LED lighting and other cool stuff that recruits would eat up. Goes for the football side as well. Not sure what the delay has been but the reno is critical to the future of both sports.

$$$$$

take the roof off.. put the cranes inside like some thing they must be.. put up a big circus tent over the court.. pull back the sides so the fans can see in and play thru the winter.. it might be a bit brisk but work could continue and be ready for the next fball season..

Hot Hot hot hot take alert don't read if you can't stand the heat

The powers that be are afraid we won't be relevant in basketball and football in the near future and don't want to waste all that money for nothing.

No reason NY's College Team shouldn't play in NY's top arena.
(although the sight lines in the Dome are MUCH better than the Garden once you get off the floor).

Until SU finds the money that is needed, we are taking a new roof and that is it.

That would be disappointing to say the least.
Interest rates are still low. Rate of return on endowment equities must be pretty high. Unless we are waiting on $ from New York State - if not now - when?
